Friday Wins! 🎉 Successfully negotiated and placed an Operations role in less than a week, and the new hire starts in just two weeks! 🔑 Understanding my client’s needs, culture, and work style was crucial, but strong candidate relationships played an equally important role. When these two align, the results speak for themselves. 💼 Here’s how it all came together: 📋 Briefed by the client and submitted a candidate in under an hour 📞 First interview within two days 🚀 Second interview the next day 📝 Negotiated, placed, and set to start in two weeks I love when my clients trust me with their hiring needs and knowing I’ve made another positive impact on a high-performing team is the most rewarding part of the job. Need help building a winning team? Send me a DM and let’s make it happen! 🚀

The amateurs in this #staffing #recruitment industry post how annoying and shortsighted companies are when they post '#noagencies please'. The 0.1% know how to turn that into gold. Of course, keep posting your funny #Olympic memes about this truth (not an objection) that your suspect has written in a post, job advert, or told you via email or on a call. Keep fighting your good fight. #winthewarontalent

How do you know if online reviews of a company are a realistic reflection of the culture and management? Unfortunately, you can’t. So do this instead… Online reviews are tricky. They are made by people who have something to say - usually, something negative to say. And if the company is big, has gone through layoffs, or is in a tumultuous industry (think Healthcare during covid) then it’s even more likely there will be disgruntled employees. Luckily, at nextOPP Search we do the vetting upfront. As a B Corp certified recruiting agency, we feel very strongly about aligning ourselves with hiring companies that have excellent cultures and missions. But if we aren't working together, how can you get the real scoop? *Reach out directly to current and former employees on LinkedIn* It might be awkward to do this yourself, so I usually suggest asking a friend. To make things as easy as possible, I've included connection request messages below for you to use. The best people to contact have the same job title as you, or are working on the same team. To someone who is currently working at the company you are interviewing with: “Hi [name]! I have a friend in final round interviews with your company and I hope you don’t mind me reaching out, but perhaps you could take a moment to share how you’ve liked working for [company] as a [job title]? How is the culture and management? Any insight is greatly appreciated!” And to someone who *used* to work for the company you are interviewing with: “Hi [name]! I have a friend in final round interviews with [company] and I hope you don’t mind me reaching out, but perhaps you could take a moment to share how it was working for them as a [job title]? How was the culture and management? Any insight is greatly appreciated!” I’ve been this “friend” for many and usually reach out to 5-10 people in each category. Some people don’t feel comfortable responding and others are not active on LinkedIn, so I usually get 2-5 total responses and the answers are extremely valuable. So, next time you find yourself nearing final interview stages somewhere, do a little digging on your own. Sure, online reviews paint a picture, but it’s not always the most accurate. At the very least, you will be at the offer stage with information about what you are truly getting into. Curious - have you ever done this or something similar? How do you try to find out about a company before accepting an offer?
