A bank holiday well spent, when not Q&A’ing A level history I finished listening to Daniel Pink’s book titled  “Drive - the surprising truth about what motivates us. “  It’s a fascinating study and discusses as central themes the importance of Autonomy, Mastery and Purpose.   In the context of what’s going on with associate salary hikes in London - and who doesn't like a pay rise, I can’t help but question whether these rapid pay rises will keep lawyers motivated and loyal to firms in the mid to longer term.  We often have conversations with the lawyers we work with not only about their goals and ambitions but on a deeper level what is their purpose and what drives their motivation. This really helps uncover what it is they want to master in their career and what it is they are looking for in their next role, or chapter in life. The role will cover M&A and PE transactions.  Those with solid academics and experience of cross-border deals are of interest and London experience is preferred. The team offers excellent breadth of deal and given the profile of the firm quality is high.  This is a great opportunity to get the most out of moving to Singapore and Asia more generally.
