Each note reflects a scent’s volatility, or how quickly it evaporates. Those at the top evaporate fastest while those at the base linger longer. The longevity of a perfume is determined by  → its storage conditions → its scent's chemical composition,  → the presence of certain ingredients like natural oils. Expert says that perfumes with heavier base notes will last the longest. However, perfumes come with a shelf life of 3-5 years. This can vary based on how it's stored and the quality of the ingredients. Here are signs that your perfume has expired: 1/ Change in smell → If the scent is off or smells like vinegar. 2/ Discoloration → A yellow or dark tint could mean the perfume has oxidized. 3/ Texture or Separation → If the liquid looks cloudy or separates. Also, check if there is a batch code or a PAO (Period After Opening) number.
