DSA 2024 exhibition in Malaysia was again a success, as Battle Eye System #BMS attracted official visits from key VIPs from the Army, namely the Chief of Armed Forces, Deputy Chief of Army and the Chief Signals Officer. We were also visited by many users from the #Army (Signals and Technical Armour) We can’t thank our friends at #Tactical #Communications Sdn. Bhd. enough. As Always #Tacticom did an outstanding job, without none of this would be possible. Hosted, supported and co-organised by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs, Defence Service Asia Exhibition and Conference (#DSA) is the biggest and most efficiently organized #Defence and Homeland Security show in Asia showcasing world’s most advance technologies, systems, hardware and electronic #warfare that the market has to offer. The 18th edition of #DSA (DSA 2024) took place from 6–9 May 2024 at #Malaysia International Trade and #Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.

The 7th edition of India-France Joint Military Exercise SHAKTI began today in Umroi, Meghalaya, strengthening bilateral relations. Exercise SHAKTI is a biennial exercise held alternately in #India and #France. The last edition was held in France in November 2021. Observers from the #IndianNavy and #IndianAirForce will also take part in the exercise. The French contingent of 90 will primarily be from the 13th Foreign Legion Half-Brigade (13th DBLE). #ExerciseSHAKTI intends to enhance both sides' joint military capability to conduct multi-domain operations in a sub-conventional situation under Chapter VII of the United Nations Mandate. The joint exercise is expected to focus on operations in semi-urban and mountainous terrain. The collaborative training aims to acquire high levels of physical fitness, rehearse and refine drills for tactical operations, and share best practices. Tactical drills to be practiced during the Exercise will include responding to a terrorist action of capturing a defined territory, establishing a Joint Command Post, establishing an Intelligence & Surveillance Centre, securing a helipad/landing site, Small Team Insertion & Extraction, Special Heliborne Operations, Cordon & Search Operations, and the use of drones and counter-drone systems, among others. Exercise SHAKTI will enable the two sides to share their best practices in Tactics, Techniques and Procedures of conducting joint operations. The joint exercise will help push interoperability and camaraderie between the two countries' armed forces personnel.

It was recently announced that Turkish mercenaries have now been deployed in the restive Liptako Gourma tri border region between Burkina Faso, Niger & Mali, once the exclusive preserve of the Russian based Wagner Group (Now Africa Corps) These troops are part of SADAT, Turkeys only private military company and but one small part of a growing defence industry used by the Turkish government to secure influence in Africa. The Indian Army has announced a significant investment of Rs 6,800 crore in Very Short Range Air Defence (VSHORAD) systems as a strategic move to strengthen its military capabilities along the borders with China and Pakistan. The 10th edition of India- Sri Lanka Joint Military Exercise MITRA SHAKTI commenced today, at Army Training School, Maduru Oya, Sri Lanka. The Exercise is scheduled to be conducted from 12th to 25th August 2024. Indian contingent comprising of 106 personnel is being represented by a Battalion of Rajputana Rifles along with personnel from other arms and services. The Sri Lankan contingent is being represented by personnel from Gajaba Regiment of Sri Lankan Army. Joint Exercise MITRA SHAKTI is an annual training event conducted alternatively in India and Sri Lanka. Last edition was conducted in Pune in Nov 2023. Aim of the Joint Exercise is to enhance joint military capability of both sides to undertake counter insurgency operations in a Sub Conventional scenario under Chapter VII of the United Nations Mandate. The exercise will focus on operations in the semi-urban environment. Tactical drills to be rehearsed during the exercise include Response to a Terrorist Action, Establishment of a Joint Command Post, Establishment of an Intelligence & Surveillance Centre, Securing of a Helipad/ Landing Site, Small Team Insertion & Extraction, Special Heliborne Operations, Cordon & Search Operations besides employment of Drones and Counter Drone Systems, among others. Exercise MITRA SHAKTI will enable both sides to share best practices in Tactics, Techniques and Procedures of conducting joint operations. It will facilitate developing inter-operability, bonhomie and camaraderie between the two armies.
