It's been said that great leaders are those who lead by example. Recently, I've had the privilege of seeing firsthand the differences in teams and individuals that develop under strong, directive leadership vs. those that deflect or lack structure. The results are astonishing. My takeaway: leadership isn't about a position, how experienced and knowledgeable you may be. It's about doing. Making decisions for yourself and advocating the team to action or resolution. Introduce clear and prescriptive guidelines on how to reach the targets you want met.
