Jim Williams was my analog hero, and Bob Pease was my dad's favorite. Tragic that Jim died early and Bob died while leaving Jim's funeral. The world lost two greats. Who's gong to fill their shoes?
James M. Williams (April 14, 1948 – June 12, 2011) was an analog circuit designer and technical author who worked for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1968–1979), Philbrick, National Semiconductor (1979–1982) and Linear Technology Corporation (LTC) (1982–2011). He wrote over 350 publications relating to analog circuit design, including five books, 21 application notes for National Semiconductor, 62 application notes for Linear Technology, and over 125 articles for EDN Magazine. https://lnkd.in/gkcvurU6

As said Dobkin, "a poet who wrote in electronics". I still enjoy reading that app notes.

5moBob Pease's analog series for EDN broke the ground for the Kimmel & Gerke EMC supplement for EDN in 1994. Not long after we all connected in person. Briefly met Jim about the same time. Bill Kimmel and/or I would meet with Bob whenever we were in San Jose - great fun. All three of us were VW owners. (I have a 71 today.) Greatly miss these engineering giants -- Bob and Jim in 2011, and my business partner Bill Kimmel in 2015. RIP.
