✍ With the increasing amount of knowledge and science in the fitness industry in regards to nutrition, it’s no wonder many of us constantly change diets, beliefs, and principles. One month you might be fasting, and then the next you’re hitting keto. It’s not even uncommon for many to restrict food for extended periods of time, only to end up where they started. 🤦♂ What gives? Who’s right? What should you do? All these paradigms transition towards truths about your lifestyle and the results you want from your current routine, so let’s dive into why your current diet could be the very reason you are more stressed and failing to get the results you want. <<<<< Fasting, Low Carb, and Keto Diet Trends >>>>>> Why It's Potentially Dangerous 🤔 Many low-carb diets and intermittent fasting can give you a false sense of energy. This is because of the increase in cortisol and adrenaline. Think about it this way. You are at the starting line for a huge race you have been preparing for over the last year. You train
I had some initial success, doing low-carb before a bit, but I had to change to something a little more sustainable for me later on. It’s interesting that you bring up the cortisol and adrenaline and I do remember feeling better about myself during this time, but also a little on edge.
This is not something to play around with you need to get actual information and it's usually better to seek professional guidance
💯 People like restrictions of time and macros so they can justify eating the junk they prefer. No carbs? No problem. Eat bacon. No eating before 10am? No problem. Have donuts at 10:05am. They're chasing the wrong restrictions, Mike Over!
Fasting is just one way. It can work for some but certainly not for all. Also, as Jesse Roberts said, if done incorrectly, fasting can be harmful and lead to muscle loss.
Instead of jumping from one diet trend to another, focus on creating a lifestyle that supports your health goals without compromising your mental and physical well-being. Mike Over
And then, there's no one-size-fits-all, right?
Fasting is definitely more nuanced than people have been treating it for the past few years. There is also a significant risk of losing muscle mass Mike Over
It's a constant cycle of diet trends, but understanding their impact on stress levels and overall health is crucial. Mike Over

5moPersonally I am a firm believer in doing what works for you and your body. Fasting, if adhered to well and for the right person, can bring great benefits. So too lower carb diets, maybe for those more insulin-resistant and are heavily overweight. For others, they need the complete opposite. But it’s what you do around these methods which also counts and how you build up to them/manage them! Everyone do your research and see what works.
