On the sidelines of CES 2024 in January, I had an opportunity to join The Six Five Media Insider podcast to talk about trends in artificial intelligence and the role that memory and storage play. Micron is one of three major global memory companies – and the only one based in the United States – that has the capacity to meet the growing demand for AI memory. We are seeing exponential growth in the capabilities of generative AI systems that are driving many new – and disruptive – applications, which require more memory. Micron has a leading portfolio of solutions for AI and devices, with high-bandwidth memory and high-capacity server memory playing a critical role. We anticipate that 2025 will be a year of record revenue opportunity as more AI capabilities come online, operating in everything from the cloud to smartphones and PCs. We are currently experiencing a highly unique moment in technology. Today, we have 5 innovation platforms evolving at the same time. These are artificial intelligence; public blockchains; multiomic sequencing; robotics and energy storage. The last time something of a similar scale happened was at the beginning of the 1900s when three platforms evolved at the same time, and it was game-changing. These were telephone, electricity and automobile.
