Operations Administrator Kristin Gagnon presented Jackson Probation Agent Christina McDonald and Peer Recovery Coaches Amber Slaby and Riley Kidd with Good Government Coins, which symbolize Customer Service. Christina, Amber, and Riley recruited several employers and community resource providers to attend a Career Fair at the Jackson Probation Office, which Drive Staffing, Jackson Community College, Nation Outside, and other organizations attended. Many of those on probation or parole took the opportunity to meet with respective agencies/employers to learn more about employment opportunities and services available. #TeamMDOC’s Employment Opportunities Unit also attended. Students heard about each organization and were "pitched" jobs and other pathway opportunities. The event also included breakout rooms where employers invited attendees to ask questions and gain additional skills and knowledge about available opportunities. My motto has always been GO BIG OR GO HOME, so I pitched the idea to my CEO, and she supported it. After the hard work of myself and my team, we had over 25 employers participating.
