The Office of California Governor Gavin Newsom is implementing the "California Model" in prisons across the state, based on principles found in the Norwegian Correctional Services System, spearheaded by Brie Williams and Amend at UCSF. Dynamic Security is one of the pillars of this model: "an approach that promotes positive relationships between staff and [prison residents], accomplished through purposeful activities and professional, positive, and respectful communication." Attica Prison in New York State shares an example of dynamic security in this TedTalk given by a Correctional Officer and two Prison Residents who are working together to "deter at-risk youth from coming to prison."
