You can’t have both ways (either support Equality or discrimination)! THE TIME IS NOW for Civic ACTION: demand our Federal Government ensures Equal US Citizenship-Civil Rights; a Representative Democracy: 1.     Short Term-Let the People VOTE-Do a PR Plebiscite on defined/viable Non-Territorial Options which are— STATEHOOD-MEANS: Admission to our diverse “UNION of STATES”-- under US Constitution/ Laws/ Democracy; EQUAL US Citizenship with full Rights, Benefits, and Responsibilities; with PR-STATE Identity, Constitution, Flag, Sovereignty… as other States & other US Citizens have… INDEPENDENCE- MEANS: Puerto Rico National Sovereignty; PR Constitution/Laws, PR Citizenship…; with loss of US Constitution & statutory US Citizenship, Rights, and Benefits... INDEPENDENCE with Free Association PACT-MEANS: Puerto Rico National Sovereignty; PR Constitution/ Laws, PR Citizenship…; with loss of US Constitution & statutory US Citizenship, Rights, and Benefits… But, with a negotiated PACT between Independent Nations on Terms (like trade, defense, etc.) that can be terminated by either side. 2.     Revoke un-just Laws (like the racist “Insular Cases”, 1920 Jones Act…); Incorporate Puerto Rico. 3.     Amend US Constitution (USC); adopt: “US Citizens’ Equal Rights-Protection Clause” that treats all US Citizens equally-no matter the residency, under our noble US Flag! (Enclosed Draft) 4.     Revoke or Amend the “Territorial Clause” with a “Status” limit; more rights, etc. (Enclosed Draft)

On July 2nd, 1964, exactly 60 years ago, President Johnson ("LBJ") signed the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act. The part of that law prohibiting workplace discrimination based on race, religion and sex is called Title VII. LBJ's remarks that day are worth reviewing. He speaks about the "unending search for justice" that is part of the American experience. He praises the Founders, while simultaneously insisting that, with the passage of the 1964 CRA, America will finally begin to live up to the promise of its own original ideals. "Those who are equal before Gd will now finally be equal in the voting booth and in the workplace," said the President. The purpose of the 1964 CRA is not to divide us, he added, but to bring us together, through a deep and abiding respect for human dignity. Note that there is no rejection of American or Western values here; just the opposite. As July 4th approaches, it is time for all of us to come together to eliminate what LBJ called the "last vestiges of injustice" in the American experiment and to do so with pride and respect for our country's values and ideals. IMHO, the passage of the 1964 CRA was a holy moment in American history. President Johnson's remarks can be found here:

Is the Civil Rights Act of 1964 a good law or a bad one? I argue here that to answer that question fully we have to consider not only the act's material and political effects, but also its role as a teacher of virtue, that is, how the act shapes souls. With respect to the issue of race, I argue here that it has probably been a good teacher of virtue.
