If you are familiar with the world of video gaming, you have likely encountered loot boxes, a common feature of many modern games, especially in the free-to-play genre. Simply put, when a player purchases such boxes, the player would gain access to random virtual items, such as new weapons, characters or cosmetic upgrades, bearing in mind that the content would vary in rarity and in value.
