🚨 MDOT-Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program Goal Public Consultation Session (SUBCONTRACTORS ONLY) 🚨 Pursuant to federal regulation 49 C.F.R. Part 23, the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking comments on the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program and overall goals for State Highway Administration (SHA) & Metropolitan Planning Organizations. In establishing the overall DBE Program goal, federal regulations require that MDOT consult with stakeholders that may have information concerning the availability of disadvantaged businesses, the effects of discrimination on opportunities for DBEs, and SHA’s efforts to increase DBE participation. Stakeholders include, without limitation, minority and women’s business groups, community organizations and other officials or organizations. As a SUBCONTRACTOR your input is important and may be used to enhance operations of the DBE Program at SHA. "AECOM said we want small business community but they need to have what is take." AECOM needs to follow FAR 52.219-9 and most mentors could have MPP but the other way around for P only allowed one. You are one of 32M small businesses according to SBA statistically then among 8(a) firms only lucky for 20% or less could continue stay alive in the Federal market. The USDOT recently released an update on the distribution of funding and investments to disadvantaged communities in FY 2022 and FY 2023. The Justice40 initiative aims to deliver 40% of federal investments to disadvantaged communities, and the USDOT not only met but exceeded these goals. In 2023, 55% of Justice40 benefits, and in 2022, 61% flowed to disadvantaged communities.
