Heads up Illinois - several different paid leave laws are in effect, or going to be in effect including the latest from Cook County, IL.
Colorado
Equal Pay Act - On December 13, 2023, the Colorado Department of Labor Employment (CDLE) has issued their final Equal Pay Transparency (EPT) Rules and Statement of Basis, Purpose, Specific Statutory Authority, and Findings, which seek to clarify the Colorado Ensure Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The rules attempt to clarify ambiguous provisions of the Act. The CDLE will be releasing further guidance in Interpretive Notice and Formal Opinion (INFO) #9A, which the CDLE website says is “coming soon.”
Colorado
Epinephrine Auto-Injector - On December 20, 2023, the Colorado Division of Insurance announced that eligible individuals can receive a 2-pack of Epinephrine Auto-Injectors for no more than a $60 copay beginning January 1, 2024. Employee Notice - The State of Illinois released its Paid Leave for All Workers Act Notice. The notice is available here: https://lnkd.in/eM8VvJcd
Cook County (Chicago and surrounding areas *This in addition to Illinois Paid Leave and City of Chicago Paid Leave*) - Beginning on December 31, 2023, employers must provide paid leave to all employees who work in the county and allow the leave to be used for any reason an employee chooses.
The Cook County Board of Commissioners amended the Cook County Paid Leave Ordinance last week by making significant changes to the county's Earned Sick Leave Ordinance (CCPLO). Employees who work in the County or whose companies have a location there are entitled to at least one hour of paid leave for every forty hours worked under the CCPLO. Employees may use accrued CCPLO leave for any purpose, in contrast to the Earned Sick Leave Ordinance, which specifies how earned sick leave may be used. Enforcement begins, February 1, 2024.
