Some interesting well-being science this week on International Women's Day. A new study has found that women benefit more from exercise than men! Unfortunately, on average, women do less activity than men. In the UK, around 1 in 3 (34%) men and 1 in 2 (42%) women are not active enough to maintain good health. This new study found "140 minutes of moderate exercise a week reduced women’s risk of premature death from any cause by 18%, compared with being inactive. By contrast, men needed 300 minutes of such exercise a week for a similar gain." Researchers for this new study hope that the finding "encourages women who may not be getting enough exercise for various reasons, that even relatively small amounts of exercise can provide significant benefits." We all struggle to prioritise activity and exercise, so it's worth remembering that even something as short as an 11-minute daily walk (70 minutes per week) has been shown to reduce our risk of early death by up to 10%. 🔥 Active Teams - helping employees Move More, Work Well and Live Well. #IWD, #iwd2024, #Health, #WellbeingAtWork, #EmployeeWellbeing

💡💡💡 I must admit I hadn't noticed this until I read this article ⬇️. But learning how to sync with my body and nurture it properly has been life-changing. From nutrition to exercise, work, planning, and so much more. We (or at least I) knew so little about how our cycle actually works. I always felt like I was in a constant fight against my nature. The result was - stress... so much stress. 🫠 Now, at almost 30, I finally understand what happens to my body throughout the cycle and how the hormones affect me. And more importantly, how to use them to my advantage. 📦 Turns out the luteal phase is a great time to brainstorm out-of-the-box ideas and solutions! 🧙♀️ During the follicular phase, I'm a productivity sorceress – it's almost like my day has more than 24 hours! Understanding and embracing this has made a world of difference. #femalelead #work #productivity
Women were found to make fewer mistakes during their periods compared with during any other phase of their cycle, despite feeling less capable.
