Supporting architects in mastering a creative model of leadership to build a more adaptable and efficient practice | Unleash the collective energy, passion, and capabilities of your people | Architecture Leadership Coach

Architects, your facade isn't working. It requires more transparency and so do you. Transparency builds trust, autonomy and security. It’s not necessary to share everything, context is all important. By not allowing for transparency your team are denied all the necessary information or context they might require. Sharing information about fees for a project, for example, can assist the team in understanding how the project is tracking and if there’s a need to find more efficiencies. Some of the practices that performed the best during Covid let the staff know the practice was facing financial challenges. It built trust, prepared staff for reduced hours (if necessary) and they were more accomodating as well as more loyal. Support your staff. Transparency about their performance should happen regularly, not just at annual reviews. As Brené Brown observed, “Clear is kind, unclear is unkind.” #architecturalpractice #architecture #leadership #coaching #unmeasured _____ If you like this you should also subscribe to my fortnightly Useletter.
