🎮 What is Gaming for Good? It is one of the key trends of 2024 as more charities find creative and innovative ways to raise money and deliver their services. 🤓 So what is it? Gaming for Good is when individuals or teams raise money for charitable causes by playing video games. Normally, people will record themselves when they are playing and broadcast it live for others to watch online. During the broadcast, links can be provided for viewers to make donations. The proceeds from advertisement can also be donated to the charity. These initiatives also raise awareness of charitable causes and charities. Interested in learning more? Going to try something a little different this year for my annual Extra Life fundraiser. As always, your donations go to Primary Children's Hospital here in Salt Lake City, which is a cause that is near and dear to my heart (happy to discuss this with you if you are interested). Traditionally, the idea was to play games for 24 hours and raise money while doing that. This would involve a lot of planning and prep work to decide what I was going to play, when I was going to play, and how I would stream the event. Well, this year, I am putting the game choices into your hands! For every $100 donation I receive, YOU will be able to choose a video game that I play for a minimum of 1 hour, and record a "Let's Play"/Design Review session for. I will then edit and post those videos to my YouTube channel. If you also want to be included on said video, we can hop on a call and you can explain why you chose the game, and what it means to you! I would like to reach 24 of these videos through 2024 (aka - 24 Hours of gaming). If you would like to donate, but cannot give that amount, please do so! Every dollar helps a child in need, and in these crazy times I fully understand how tight money is. As far as the games you can choose, it must be one I own or have access to. I have both Microsoft Games Pass Ultimate, and Nintendo Switch Online so those are ALL fair game.
