The best part of my internship with Michael kors has been the opportunity to work with a designer brand that many people love. The quality of product and connection people have towards the bags or shoes is just so beautiful beasue many loyal costumers will come in saying "they only buy Michael kors bags", or "I'm always coming in every now and then to buy the new bags" I think is so fun and cute to hear that they buy lots of bags in different colors or sizes especially because they will say that there previous bags aren't bad or anything they actually last forever but they just want the bags cause they love the brand. 1 thing I have really learned at my internship was trying to give the best customer service you can, espescially at my internship I have to adjust to helping a costumer so they feel like they are being understood. I have had to speak Spanish to help customers who don't speak English at all or helping customers order on our online store for an item that cannot be found in store stuff like that really helped me for times I would have to do it again with another customer so just every experience builds off another. We bought our interns Louis Vuitton, Goyard, and Apple AirPods Max. This summer, our interns Lindsey Demyun and Mia W. were massive factors in our growth. They took on a ton of ownership in their respective roles and truly smashed it! To show our gratitude for their hard work, we decided to run back our annual intern competition alongside Safiya Adatia (Spencer Chandlee / Cardinal Ventures) and Charles Aschkenasy (Daniel Andrews / Playground). The premise was simple. Each intern was given a test in the art of negotiation. With the same budget, they went to Canal St in NYC to see who could haggle the best counterfeit luxury item (that they got to keep). Beyond being a fun challenge with a small gift, learning how to negotiate is a cornerstone of any professional career. As you can see in the electric photo — everyone CRUSHED the negotiations. Sadly, we're losing Mia and Lindsey back to USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy, which means we might be hunting for someone to fill their shoes! 👀 If we bring on a new intern, we’ll be looking for a hungry and operationally-minded student who wants to get ACTUAL hands-on experience at a fast-growing startup. Taking a moment to BRAGG… Two weeks ago the Travel Retail Worldwide division at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. completed it’s THIRD summer hosting interns from my beloved Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Since inception, THIRTY students have had the opportunity to spend a summer in NYC 🍎 discovering & learning about a career in the beauty industry. 🌟 Five lessons learned along the way 🌟 1. Developing a strategy that provides opportunities to grow 🎯 From day one, we sat out not only to build a pipeline of talent but using the opportunity to shape future leaders in the beauty industry. We created a strategy that allowed us to grow over the years, adding increased levels of engagement to expand our reach. 2. Delivering real impact 🌍 I was amazed at how engaging interns with meaningful projects and responsibilities energized both them and the teams. Year 1 of the program coincided with us returning to the office and the intern energy was truly infectious. Seeing their work have a tangible impact on our business was incredibly rewarding for everyone involved. 3. Power of mentorship 🤝 We made it a priority to pair interns with dedicated mentors. This hands-on support and guidance proved invaluable, providing interns with not only professional development but also a sense of belonging within our teams. 4. Broadening horizons 🎓 We implemented a range of learning opportunities, from lunch and learns, networking events and community service activities, to provide interns a well-rounded experience. This approach helped them gain diverse skills and perspectives that extended beyond their daily responsibilities. 5. Embracing flexibility and feedback 🗣️ Flexibility is key. We remain open to adjusting the program in response to feedback and changing needs allowing us to stay relevant and effective to ensure a positive experience for all. Building this program has been a journey filled with learning and growth, both for the interns and the organization. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for what’s next.  My 2-Month Internship Journey at Landmark Group - Max Retail Division 🌟 As I look back on my exciting days of internship at Landmark Group’s Max Retail Division, I’m thrilled to share my experiences and growth. 1. About the Company Landmark Group is a well-known retail conglomerate, and I had the privilege of interning with the Max Retail Division. This division is committed to excellence and provided me with a fantastic learning environment. 2. What I Did a. Creating Motivating Presentations- I got to create PowerPoint presentations on rewards and recognition programs. It was fascinating to explore how we motivate and appreciate employees. 🏆 b. New Joiners’ ID Cards and Reports- I printed personalized ID cards for new colleagues, and I also maintained detailed Excel reports. These reports helped streamline our onboarding process. 📊 c. Sourcing CVs and Scheduling Interviews- I actively sourced CVs for open positions within the company. Coordinating interviews and ensuring smooth scheduling was both challenging and rewarding. 📝 d. Store Visits and Compliance Checks- Regular store visits allowed me to check compliance with guidelines related to a safe and respectful workplace. 🏬 e. Employee Engagement and Fun Activities- I organized fun games and team-building activities to keep our colleagues engaged and happy. A positive work environment boosts productivity! 🎉 f. Tracking Performance and Attendance- Analyzing monthly performance metrics and maintaining attendance records helped me understand our workforce better. 📈 g. Training Coordination and File Audits- I tracked training sessions and ensured employees completed them on time. Additionally, auditing personal files taught me attention to detail. 📚 3. Skills I Gained a. Effective Communication I learned how to communicate clearly and concisely with diverse teams and stakeholders. 🗣️ b. Data Handling and Analysis Excel became my best friend! From pivot tables to VLOOKUPs, I used it to analyze data efficiently. 💡 c. Dynamic Presentations Crafting impactful presentations became second nature. Visual storytelling is powerful! In Conclusion My internship journey has been a mix of challenges, camaraderie, and professional growth.
