Never when we sat down for that coffee all those years ago did I think we would end up here. Very proud of all that we have achieved over the past two years, the incredible team we have and the wonderful group of clients we have built. Smartest, most genuine, hardworking bloke there is. Honour and privledge to learn and spend majority of most days with you! Could write a list as long as the Nile about what I’ve learnt from JB, here’s 5 points that first come to mind; 1. Listen, listen more, take notes, summarise in writing, engage any expert you can to upskill and better understand the problem, turn the world over to find the most powerful solution. 2. If you find yourself with a few spare minutes having finished a meeting early, driving or walking to lunch, spend this time calling your team members to check in, this will be invaluable to both you and them. 3. No matter how busy you are, always make the time to stay connected and engaged with your network, a quick text is all it takes. 4. Respect and celebrate the achievements of our peers, their success makes us better and drives us forward as an industry. The quote I love from JB most is, “there’s enough clients out there for everyone.” 5. Always remember, we aren’t saving lives. Your family and your health always come first. One of a kind JB. Friday mood. As we move into the holiday weekend, I think about all my friends and colleagues who are in transitions right now. It's a slog; it goes in fits and starts. Consistency is a challenge. And weekends suck because no one else but you is thinking about you or your situation. We feel no movement on those days. Long weekends exaggerate that feeling. It reminds me of a recent comment by one of my favorite New York Rangers players, Chris Kreider, about one of his young teammates. Kreider describes how in the playoffs you don't necessarily step up your game, but you lean on your habits - your great habits are what help you to focus and succeed at times of greater stress. So for those of us in transition - lean on your habits. They will lift you up and allow you to navigate the ups and downs. Keep on keepin' on. Check out the interview here:

A great self review checklist...

Patience and perseverance is grossly underestimated! Extremely smart and intelligent team members tend to loose the initial value they bring when they dont have these two qualities and averagely smart team members with little or no skills, but with a high level of patience, perseverance and commitment to growing tend to acquire all the skills and intelligence they need and become extremely valuable to a team over time! Patience and perseverance is grossly underestimated! Always better to Play the long term game!

Through my journey so far, I was fortunate enough to work closely with colleagues on the same goals and personal growth. The disbalance between employee benefits was something I have struggled to bring to everyone in the team in the companies I've worked with.
