Explore more, ask questions, learn something new. That, for me at least, is what drives success

The Little Moments 🎳 Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a local bowling event, where my uncle Mike, a participant with an intellectual disability, shone brightly. Getting the chance to give him a big high-five after his 119-game was one of those little moments, I think, for him as much as for me. This event, while not officially part of the Special Olympics, embodied the same spirit of inclusion, celebration of abilities, and community support. It was a vivid reminder of the incredible potential and determination of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The athletes, including my uncle, demonstrated not just their bowling skills but also their resilience, enthusiasm, and infectious joy. What was clearer than anything was the community atmosphere. Athletes and supporters encouraged and cheered for one another, creating an environment of genuine sportsmanship and camaraderie. Their ability to find happiness in every achievement and to gracefully overcome challenges was inspiring. I can honestly say this small experience has deepened my appreciation for organizations and events that support people with intellectual disabilities, whether they are large-scale movements like the Special Olympics or local community events like the weekly bowling league my uncle is a part of. They provide vital opportunities for participation, growth, and recognition. I urge everyone to support these causes in any way they can, or any cause that's close to you. Whether it's attending events, volunteering, or spreading awareness, every bit of support makes a difference. It's not just about helping others; it's about learning from their strength, determination, and capacity for joy. Let’s continue to create and support inclusive environments where everyone, irrespective of their abilities, gets the opportunity to participate, compete, and thrive. #Inclusion #CommunitySupport #LocalEvents #JoyInSports #Resilience
