👉🏽 Here's my thoughts about FAIR going forward: 🏁 I finished a 5-week class last night. It was an intro course, learning about the taxonomy and calibrating risk. Although, we are now enabled to test for the entry-level certification, I think I'll wait. 🤔 I just wanted to learn about FAIR for the first time. I had a lot of misunderstandings about it when I went to FAIRCON '23. 👏🏽 I definitely see the value in using FAIR as a tool for analyzing and communicating risk. I just like to get some practice with it. 📚 After getting experience with using FAIR, I might consider retaking the course and testing for the certification down the road. Again, I definitely do believe FAIR is a very valid tool to use. 😂 I know some only believe that you need a team of actuaries, on a risk management team, to use FAIR. 👉🏽 However, I think there's some misunderstanding about how to use FAIR in that argument. 👉🏽 Once you understand the taxonomy and how to use it, and you have good, objective data, you can save time to calculate the Loss Event Frequency and Loss Magnitude to get the Risk without drilling too deep into the lower-level factors. 💬 What are your thoughts?

2024 Level Up Reflecting on a discussion with our CE today, for me it’s about how we’re deliberate about being good at what we should be good at. Through connecting our risk layers better and building on our foundations from last year our team will be looking at how we assist the org to ‘level up’ and build on the strong foundation we have set. Picture - early thinking about how we continue to connect people and governance.
