Deloitte took time off from their busy schedule to support the Howard and Evanston Community Center by landscaping and prepping for Adult Education learners, as well as cleaning and sanitizing. We are excited about this relationship and look forward to more collaborating. #Deloitte #ImpactDay

🌟 Thrilled to have volunteered for Deloitte on their Impact Day! 🌐 As part of the YFS team at the Coed Government School of Dwarka Sector-6(Delhi), I had the pleasure of connecting with the incredible Deloitte team and inspiring individuals. 🚀 Engaging with numerous school students, their creativity left me in awe! 🎨 Here are some valuable takeaways from my experience: 1️⃣ Corporate volunteering is a must for personal and professional growth. 2️⃣ Hard work is the key to success, and it pays off! 3️⃣ Respect is a two-way street: Give it and take it. 4️⃣ Choosing suitable attire is crucial; reminder to oneself: refrain from wearing high heels during extended workdays! 5️⃣ Embrace every opportunity that comes your way. 6️⃣ Don't shy away from asking questions—there's always something new to learn! 🌈 Grateful for the enriching experience and the chance to contribute to a positive impact. Let's continue learning, growing, and making a difference together! 👫🌍 #volunteering #learningandgrowing #makeadifference #linkedinforcreators

For Louise Harvey, there’s no ‘cookie cutter’ ideal for what a Deloitte partner should look like. As well as being passionate about her work, she’s never missed one of her children’s school plays. By prioritising her family alongside her career, she’s been able to grow within Deloitte in her own way, staying true to her values. Hear how she juggles life as a busy working parent, and discover more about life at Deloitte. https://deloi.tt/4alNtxW #WhatMattersToYou? #LifeAtDeloitte

I never post about my job or employer, but I have something to say now. I just came back home from Deloitte University last night. It was my 4th time being there in my almost 3 year tenure at the firm. In fact, in just the last 12 months, I’ve been there 3 different times, taken 16 weeks of parental leave, enjoyed several other firm days off (disconnect days) and enjoyed a whole host of other well-being benefits, including free counseling sessions for my wife and I due to the loss of our 3-month-old baby, and I am still in awe of Deloitte. In 2015, 3 years after I graduated college and never pursuing teaching English, as I originally intended to, I decided to make a career switch from the automotive world and re-enrolled into college to study Accounting. I first learned about Deloitte back then in 2015, and I had always dreamed of working there since. In 2021, that dream became a reality. Throughout my time, Deloitte’s treated me extremely well and fairly, allowed me to provide for my family, and given me a world-class experience and training I would not have gotten anywhere else. I am beyond blessed, despite many challenges, personally and professionally. Leadership at Deloitte always talks about caring for our well-being and mental health. But they don’t just talk about it. They demonstrate it. I know that for a fact. #Deloitte #Mentalhealthawarenessmonth

Courage Permission Slip Giver | Coach for Leaders | Award-Winning L&D Professional | Podcast Host | Speaker & Facilitator
Earlier this month, Deloitte hosted Well-Being Week, an annual week-long event focused on promoting the integration of well-being in our daily work, our teams, and our personal lives. This event came just when I started my own reflection on things I wanted (and needed!) to shift immediately and also in the coming year. As a volunteer coach at Deloitte, I was coaching my clients through this type of reflection and permissioning, too. As I close 2023 and prepare physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally for 2024, I figured I'd put my money where my mouth is and share my #MyWellBeingPledge. Simply, I commit to: 👩🏾For myself: Carving out 15 minutes each day for mindful curiosity, then doing a deep dive on Fridays to elevate my knowledge and explore ways to apply that knowledge. ✨For my team (seen here ⬇️): Be clear and transparent, notice and acknowledge the gifts that others showcase, and courageously share my gifts in support of offering different perspectives that elevates our work and our value in the organization. #WellBeingatWork #ReflectandGrow #CouragePermissionSlip #CourageousLeaders

Reflecting on Deloitte Impact Day 2023, November 24, a day where we come together to uplift communities. I joined "VidyaVahini," crafting specialized flashcards for children with disabilities. The experience underscored the significance of working towards a cause: 1. Empowerment Through Education: Every child deserves access to education. Creating tools that facilitate learning for disabled kids empowers them to thrive despite challenges. 2. Fostering Inclusivity: By supporting initiatives like "Vidya Vahini," we promote a more inclusive society, breaking barriers for those often marginalized. 3. Meaningful Impact: It's not just about the action but the impact. Even small contributions, like crafting flashcards, can profoundly change lives and futures. 4. Collective Responsibility: We have a collective responsibility to give back and contribute positively to the communities we live in. Each effort counts. On this impactful day, I'm reminded that our actions, no matter how small, can ripple into transformative change. Grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a purpose-driven initiative! #deloitte #deloitteindia #deloitteimpactday2023 #VidyaVahini #communityempowerment #makeadifference

Summarizing the "Impact Day 2023" at Deloitte. ✨💯 It involved engaging with the school children to emphasize the importance of effective decision making in personal development. While interacting, we posed thought-provoking questions – What would be the impact if there are no school uniforms?; or What if there were more classes for Hobbies and Performing Arts? Surprisingly, the kids exhibited concerns about discrimination that could happen based on clothes if there are no uniforms in school; and the societal perceptions of considering performing arts and hobbies as non-conventional options of careers. The kids being from a humble background showcased in their responses the qualities of maturity, compassion and ambition to become a better professional. We concluded our session by encouraging them to regularly practice and hone their decision making skills. Grateful of this opportunity to volunteer for this day. An expression of Deloitte’s commitment to fostering more equitable, compassionate, and empowered community. This is a powerful concept that I totally agree with, Kayla Bentley! Today, I have a host of mentors. Some I have never met! That doesn't change the impact each of them has had on certain aspects of my life. Eric Thomas & Associates LLC Jocko Willink #mentorship #leadership #foreverlearning

While at the Girls Who Code Deloitte Networking Event this past Wednesday, Kavitha Prabhakar mentioned how each person may need to seek out different forms of mentorship throughout their lives. Although it may seem simple, I began to reflect on my own conception of mentorship. Over time I've had difficulty seeking out a mentor due to a fear of judgment or wasting the person's time but reflected on how all kinds of mentorship are two-way streets. During my time working and volunteering in childcare environments, it was both challenging and rewarding to help kids navigate the world around them and develop a stronger sense of self. Reassuring kids struggling with new math concepts before a test or doubting their musical abilities before their final performance helped me reinforce universal understandings in myself that I hadn't even realized I'd forgotten. By being in a supportive role, I learned what it meant to motivate and support myself. Recently a peer mentioned how 'we spend our lives comparing ourselves to the people we don't want to be' in a discussion about the formation of personal and social identity. In contrast, at a recent One Million Degrees scholar development session we discussed the power of role models, and how we don't have to look up to the entirety of a person, but rather, we can choose aspects of a person's life, personality, or accomplishments that we admire and respect. While continuing to pursue professional, academic, and personal goals, I've gained a greater appreciation for my mentors and role models along the way. In the past, overarching failures would dissuade me from choosing someone as a role model or mentor, but these days I'm starting to realize that overcoming obstacles is a universal aspect of growing as a person and surrounding myself with people who actively pursue their goals will yield limitless amounts of support, encouragement, and motivation to everyone contributing to a greater good.
