As a founder/owner of a cleaning business, I've heard people say "it's just cleaning," which I find amusing. Having worked as a cleaner and housekeeping supervisor for years, I learned that being a good cleaner requires skills and knowledge. During cleaning job trials, I've seen people with cleaning products ask "what is this used for." This highlights the importance of paying attention to detail and understanding the use of cleaning products. To be a cleaner, one needs to be physically fit, practice consistently, stay organized, stay updated on cleaning trends and innovations, seek training opportunities, learn from experienced cleaners, develop customer service skills, and identify problem areas. Ensuring quality control is also crucial. In short, being a good cleaner is a skill that requires continuous learning and improvement. Let's give our cleaners the credit they deserve! #cleaning #skills #qualitycontrol #customerservice #continuouslearning

Another important thing. Please make sure that your duties are not duplicated. I’ve noticed most people duplicated duties without noticing it. For an example. 1. Operating switch board 2. Answering all income calls and transferring to the relevant department. In all honestly, this is the same thing. Switch board is used to answer calls and transfer to the relevant department This is not something that can hinder you from getting hired but it’s housekeeping 👏 you don’t wanna have a long list of duties repeating the same thing in different words.

Challenging myself with housekeeping chores has been the most satisfying way to live, even when choices are limited. I encountered a unique challenge with the concealed systems in the three toilets that came with my house over a decade ago. Despite the plumber's unsuccessful attempts to fix them, I took on the challenge by learning and trying to fix them myself. After three years of partial fixes, I finally found a professional who confirmed the work I had done was commendable. However, the systems still didn't function correctly. Upon disassembling the entire system and identifying the issue with a small part holding the floating part, I ordered the necessary component. Today, after three years, everything is finally working perfectly! 🎯🥳 In essence, this experience taught me the importance of challenging oneself, embracing creativity, acquiring new skills, techniques, and seeking advice from others. Always strive to challenge yourself, and don't shy away from learning and growing. And if you need plumping advice don’t hesitate to call me 😎 #ChallengeYourself #Creativity #ContinuousLearning

Absolutely agree with Chris on this! Cleanliness and a neat presentation on the job site are often the first indicators of the quality and care that go into the work. It truly sets you apart and speaks volumes about your trade. Check out Chris Tatge's post to see why this simple but powerful practice matters so much!

I just got a phone call from a job superintendent to say thanks for keeping the job site clean. He even went so far as to mention some of my competitors and their lack of housekeeping. I talk a lot about our differentiators. How setting yourself apart can give you an advantage. One of the easiest things to do is to keep the job site clean. When somebody who doesn't understand your trade judges your work the first thing they look at is cleanliness.

Health and Safety Manager with 20+ Years Experience Committed to Protecting Employees and Boosting Productivity
Housekeeping is Everyone’s Job Housekeeping is everyone’s job – every trade, every worker, and every supervisor. And it’s a job you should do every day – not just once a week or when a project is over. The first rule is to do your work neatly in the first place, and clean up after yourself. Good housekeeping does more than prevent injuries – it can save time, and it can keep your tools and properties from being lost, damaged, or destroyed. Remember, our actions can have a significant impact on others. A clean and orderly workplace shows you take pride in your work and makes everyone’s work environment more pleasant. #safety #safetytips #safetyfirst #safetyawareness #safetymatters #safetytraining #safetyatwork #safetyculture #safetyofficer #OHS #HSE #construction #constructionsite #constructionwork #constructionlife #constructionmanagement #incidentprevention #AccidentPrevention #Workplacesafety #housekeeping #housekeepingtips #housekeepinglife #safetyresponsibility #responsibleforsafety #workplacewellness #workplacehazard #workplacehazards #SafetyForAll #SafetyForEveryone

I have spent the last 3 days training this house help who met my expectations.. This lady isn't so green. The ability to listen and follow instructions and enquire.. She doesn't wait for me to arrive, she starts working from where we left.. She is also skilled and gifted. She is great in communication. I have trained others who don't know anything, others look at you wondering what you are saying, some you literally have to push. Where we are reclaiming our spaces, one way we are doing it is equipping your house manager on cleaning and Housekeeping skills. Add value to your house managers. Have the functional homes concept in your home. Housekeeper 001
