Entering the 5G era, we're seeing a surge in demand for high-performance RF devices. The rise of multi-antenna components and high-order MIMO in devices signifies 5G's complexity. To tackle this, more complex modules are needed. Last year, we saw a breakthrough in 300mm RF-SOI wafer production, paving the way for future industry development. RF-SOI's rapid growth hints at its future role in enhancing smart device performance. #5GEra #RFDevices #TechInnovation

Don't let a dead battery stop you from finding lost clinical devices. With our solution, EDGE PinPoint, you can still locate a powered-down device if its battery is equipped with a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon. Zebra Technologies devices, such as the HC50 and TC52-HC, come with battery-based secondary BLE beacons which allow a location to be detected by a seeking device, even if the lost device’s battery has reached a critically low state or is now powered off. To gain more insight into EDGE PinPoint, read our latest blog. https://hubs.la/Q02nC8NV0 #strategicmobility #SMG3RxEDGE #ZebraPartner #clinicalmobility

Very soon, you would be able to find your earphones, wallets and keys with centimeter level accuracy, let’s talk the tech behind! Ever since the inception of BLE, the most commonly used method of estimating the distance of the other BLE device was through RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) which is not very accurate for different path gains (the signal attenuates through walls) and multipath interferences (the same BLE packet received multiple times after bouncing off surfaces). This is more important with evolving use cases, warehouses adapting BLE tags for inventory tracking, door locks getting smarter and your smart homes being more aware of your presence than ever. We need a tech that finds the proximity of BLE devices with centimeter level accuracies. We are talking about HADM (High Accuracy Distance Measurement). it is a new feature spec being developed by Bluetooth SIG that uses algorithms and extensions to the usual BLE packets to calculate the distance between the TX and RX. Two big things here, phase based ranging and round trip time (more on that for a future post). UWB (ultrawide band) is another tech that operates with 3 - 10 GHz band, serves the same purpose as HADM and both of these come with their sets of pros and cons. Having worked on RSSI based ranging, working on the next leap of tech is super fun! Check out this video by Bluetooth SIG about HADM in practice: https://lnkd.in/g65G2jam Every week I share intriguing insights into tech driven by curiosity. Follow along! 🚀 #HADM #Bluetooth #BLE
