Compassion happens from the inside out. In a world where we are often compelled to focus on others' struggles, it is essential to shift our perspective and recognise the importance of introspection. This World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th endeavours to highlight the vital need to change the narrative around suicide. In support I have created an insightful 45-minute session designed not just to inform but to transform our approach to mental health. In this session, we will explore the complexities of suicide, how to better support others, and the necessity of empathic self-awareness. Understanding our own experiences is the first step in supporting others well. Let’s come together to foster a more compassionate environment where we can learn, support, and uplift one another. For a charitable donation of £550, your organization can host this enlightening session. To inquire, please reach out to [email protected].

Like every charity at the moment Trauma Breakthrough is facing a squeeze, and some painful choices. The cost of living crisis means that people don't have as much money to support charities as they used to. At the same time, the number of people who need urgent, specialist help with their mental health continues to increase. Around 80 to 100 trauma survivors with complex mental health needs are referred to us every month, but the reality is that we only have the capacity to help around 10% of them. If you are a leader in an organisation in the commercial sector or know others who are, please consider donating or partnering with us to keep our services open and help us meet the growing level of need. To find out why supporting survivors is vital for commercial organisations, and how you can help, please visit https://lnkd.in/eGfqewqG or https://lnkd.in/et3fM_vB to donate directly.

Hey, brainiacs! I'm taking part in the push up challenge for Mental Health. Here are some funny reasons why you should donate to this awesome cause: 1) Because life is hard and people need help to cope 2) Brains are squishy and mushy, but science shows you can reshape them no matter how old you get. 3) Working out keeps me sane, so I won't freak out at you 4) It's the biggest fundraising event for mental health in Australia 5) Stick one to the man and get some money back for doing good! The Push for Better Foundation is a legit charity in Australia and you can claim your donation on your taxes. (ABN 49645093349) 6) I also put my money where my mouth is, so you know it's good stuff.

Family Lawyer, Collaborative Practitioner, Mediator, Head of Family Practice, Partner at Tanner De Witt
I was happy to support Weez Walk 2024 for youth mental health and suicide prevention. I thoroughly enjoyed the 60 km walk around Hong Kong Island, switching off from work and enjoying some stunning countryside with some excellent company. When our youth can't find, or are reluctant to find, help for their own mental health, stress or suicidal ideation within their families, it's critical they can quickly find alternative sources of support. "All net proceeds from Weez Walk go to KELY Support Group for our mental health and suicide prevention programmes. Our youth-focused mandate is a direct response to the elevated vulnerabilities in recent years - from our survey in 2021, over 50% of respondents showed signs of depression. The youth mental health is even more alarming these years, according to a latest survey by local universities in 2023, nearly 18% have reported suicidal ideation, and around 8% had made a suicide attempt. While at the same time, timely help-seeking is rare, due to mental health stigma and limited resources." https://lnkd.in/grE-ZHrN "KELY Support Group (KELY) is a Hong Kong-based nonprofit organisation whose mission since 1991 is to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to support themselves and each other. We envision a world where young people are empowered to reach their full potential." https://kely.org/
Tanner De Witt had a great time joining Weez Walk again this year, a charity event by the Weez Project and KELY Support Group to spread the word about suicide prevention and youth mental health. Some of us from Tanner De Witt took on the challenge of walking along the Hong Kong Coastal Trail, which is over 60 kilometers long! We are so happy to support the Weez Project and KELY Support Group in their amazing work to help young people overcome their struggles and reach their potential. You can still show your support by making a donation at this link: https://lnkd.in/d4EH4hHb. Every dollar matters and will go towards life-saving suicide prevention programs and mental health initiatives. #WeezWalk2024 #KELYSupportGroup #SuicidePrevention #YouthMentalHealth #Charity #HongKongCommunity

If people would only realise that mental health services and charities are the link to all the other charities and can support them all, and also increase the others successes… for example, many mental health sufferers struggle to maintain routine and clean their teeth… no amount of education will change that, mental health support however, can… The other charities you could vote for, when they occur and are bad, often the majority need mental health support for them and their families to cope… which also further increases the odds of successful treatments and surgeries… while also increasing the standard of mental aftercare! But mental health services also aid in people becoming healthier, more active and less likely to contract the issues other charities support… thus aiding in prevention and causing the other charities to have less strain on them and need less resources to have great success… The brain, is the most important aspect of the body… it doesn’t just retain information… it also promotes or demotes physical health, decision making and ability to cope with stress and daily life…
We're delighted to be one of four charities sharing a donation of £250,000 from Simplyhealth and Denplan, in their mission to support the nation's health this winter. 💚 Your votes will decide how much of the share we receive – so we’re counting on your support! With your help, this donation will enable us to continue our vital work towards good mental health for all. A minute of your time is all it takes to make a big difference and support our work. 💚 Vote by Sun 17 December!: https://bit.ly/3R5QLxY
