Lemone has been recognized as one of the Texas Nurses Association's 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2024. Thank you for the impact you have had on those around you and the nursing profession. As someone who loves education and being a preceptor, Lemone wanted to provide her colleagues with the right tools and resources to succeed. Lemone's role as the night resource education specialist at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital helps address educational gaps and promote staff development. Since joining in 2020, Lemone has spearheaded initiatives such as night security mock drills to enhance workplace safety and collaborated on mock rapid response and code drills to prepare staff for emergency situations. Additionally, Lemone leads the Code Lilac peer support group and serves as the student placement coordinator, fostering relationships with academic partners to provide valuable clinical experience for future health care professionals. "This award is an extreme honor not only for me but for the team of dedicated and passionate nursing educators, leaders and staff at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital," she says. "It is refreshing to be reminded that the work we do as nurses not only affects how we perform in helping save lives but also how it positively influences us as nurses to elevate our practice, be innovative and encourages us to remember why we chose nursing." #Nursing #Texas #Leadership
