When it comes to cancer, the treatment gap in the U.S. is measurable: Historically underrepresented populations have lower screening rates and less access to optimal care, including biomarker testing and clinical trials. For example, Black people represent 13% of the U.S. population but only 7% of cancer clinical trial participants. #MyCompany is addressing these equity issues head-on: through Amgen’s RISE (Representation in Clinical Research) program, we are working toward our goal of exceeding the current industry benchmark for representative enrollment for research trials in the U.S. And even as researchers pursue next-generation therapies, we’re working closely with advocacy allies and other stakeholders to maximize the benefits of existing innovations to improve cancer care for all patients, everywhere. #WorldCancerDay
