I love when candidates ask great questions during an interview! Not only does it show they're thinking about themselves in the role, but it also helps me visualise them in the position and how they can have an impact immediately. Recently, a candidate asked me, "What is the one thing I could take off your plate today that would help you?" This question really got to the heart of why I was hiring for this position. Sometimes a different question or perspective helps you get to the nitty-gritty of what is really impactful or top of mind for that day. It wasn't a strategic question, but it was incredibly impactful. What are some questions you ask during an interview to get to the heart of the matter? #InterviewTips #JobSeekers #Recruiting
Love that metaphor too Melanie 🙌🏼 now our curiosity is did they get the role? 😉 lucky them if they did to work with you
Couldnt agree more Mélanie O'Donovan... A candidate who is deeply engaged asking relevant questions about the business, the role and the interviewer is such a good sign. Great point!

6moI was recently interviewed for a role that focused on maximising the specific outcome and the question I wanted to ask (but didn't because it only came to my mind after the interview) was which aspects of the role keep the entire unit from being replaced by an AI. During another interview with a company that deploys charging stations for EVs, I asked: your business is built around the assumption of personal transport remaining a major transportation method, basically only replacing the fossils with electricity. Will your business stay relevant if the whole paradigm changes in favour of public transport? For full disclosure, I was rejected both times (many more times to be honest) and cannot guarantee these questions were perceived as good ones.
