"How long is it taking to land a #MedicalScienceLiaison role right now?" That question came in yesterday from an experienced MSL in Texas. You can probably guess that the answer is- it varies. I have one candidate who should be about 14 days from me contacting her to offer. That is one extreme! The other extreme is 3-4+ months, depending on how many candidates are in process. It's best to expect it to take a few months, and if it's shorter, we can celebrate together! Now, here are present #medicalaffairs of focus for this week! Please share this post with your colleagues to help those looking find a role for them. #pharmacist #pharmd #pharma #biotech

Unlock the secrets to overcoming top challenges with CROs and derisk your clinical trials. Since CROs were introduced, there has been little innovation in their operating model. Meanwhile, the biotech industry has changed dramatically, requiring value creation and speed while containing risk and costs. These 3 common CRO issues are byproducts of a dated model: ➡️ Lack of control & agility: CROs can make it difficult to retain control over outcomes. Their siloed and hierarchical structures impede their ability to quickly react to challenges, putting trials at risk. ➡️ High turnover: CRO turnover rates, which can be as high as 30-40%, cause delays and disruptions in continuity for clinical programs. ➡️ Inflated, opaque costs: CROs bundle services and obscure costs, making it hard to manage and optimize expenses effectively. Our report offers strategic advice on maintaining control, improving agility, and managing costs more transparently to keep programs on track and enable better clinical outcomes. #STEM is a part of #Inizio. How to measure generated value and impact of #MSLs for their customers and organizations? Download our latest whitepaper.
Although #MSLs are generating more value for their customers and their organizations than ever before, measuring the value and impact of MSLs still remains elusive as there is no consensus within the industry on the best approach. Different methods have been employed to answer this question, including a myriad of internal quantitative and qualitative measures, but a gap remains. In our latest whitepaper, we discuss how adopting a strategic plan with clear ASMART objectives aligned with the overall commercial strategies will foster a collective understanding of #MSL value. https://lnkd.in/eEcfQdmD Find out how STEM can help [email protected] #Msl #brandperformace #pharma #lifescience # MSL/Medical Affairs community #medicalaffairs

Clinical Trials – Phases explained 💊 🏥 There are 3 main phases of clinical trials – phases 1 to 3. Phase 1 trials are the earliest phase trials and phase 3 are later phase trials. Some trials have an earlier stage called phase 0, and there are some phase 4 trials done after a drug has been licensed. Phase I - Trials aim to test the safety of a new treatment. Phase II - Trials test the new treatment. Phase III - Trials involve larger numbers of patients. Phase IV - Trials are done after a drug has been approved. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐑𝐎: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐭 ? 👇 (𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟏/𝟑) 💡 There are 3 different types of CROs which are usually defined by their size : Small, Mid-Size and Large Each of these structures have Pros & Cons and could be a good fit for Sponsors depending on their needs, size & expectations. ✍ I will write 3 posts highlighting pros & cons for each type of structure Let's start with small CROs (10-250 employees) 👇 🔍 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐬: 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞 : 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬 🙂 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: Small CROs often provide more tailored and personalized service. Their size allows for close collaboration, ensuring that sponsor project receives focused attention. 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: They can quickly adapt to changes and offer customized solutions that align closely with the sponsor's needs. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞: Often, small CROs have niche expertise, particularly in specific therapeutic areas which make them experts in a specific field. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬 🙁 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬: Small CROs may lack the extensive resources of larger organizations, which can limit their capacity for large-scale or global studies. 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 : Small CROs do not always propose full-service solution and sponsor may need to contract with different vendors such as Biometrics ones which is not the most optimal process. 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 They may struggle to scale quickly if the trial scope increase (ex: additional sites/countries), potentially leading to delays. 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡: Small CROs may have a more limited global presence (at 1 or 2 country level), which could be an issue for studies requiring international reach. What are your thoughts ? 🤔 Let me know if I missed something or if you think differently ! Next post will be focus on Large CROs 🌎 #CRO #ClinicalResearch #Biotech #Pharma #CRA #Science

On this day I want to recognize the hard work, dedication, and amazing example of all people involved in clinical trials. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I learned the hard way how important these trials are and how dependable we all are on these trials to be successful so that we have new and better treatments or just one more alternative, more hope. I am using the Clinical Trials Day to remind myself of the importance of: - Patient and Caregiver Involvement - Diversity and Inclusion - Proactive Planning and Management - Collaboration - Transparency - Teamwork - Beginner's Mindset We all need to focus on these things to make clinical trials more successful and to learn from the unsuccessful ones and evolve. I would like to thank my team also for fighting for our mission to Bring Research Closer to Patients. Through a million different challenges you never gave up on supporting Patients, Caregivers, and the Industry. You are true heroes! #HappyClinicalTrialsDay #clinicaltrials #patientsfirst #clinicaltrialrecruitment #clinicalresearch #standardofcare #trialhub #patientrecruitment #trialamendments #cro #cra #pharma #biotech #drugdevelopment #clinicalresearchassociates
