The news cycle is just horrific, with story after story of violence against women. We are all connected, and this problem is systemic. Abuses of power are everywhere. When MeToo broke our then-male CEO flippantly said, “I signed many NDAs at [XYZ & XYZ] (high street giants). We knew [XXX] and [XXX] were perverts.” The subtext…..’If this happens to you, this is where my values lie. Signing NDAs isn’t a big deal’. We also had a HR Director say ‘I won’t hear anything against Phillip Green, he had a good side and gave to charity’. Fuck Off with that!! This person is creating the NDA’s for the CEO to sign off so the male perpetrator can go untouched. It’s no longer good enough to say “Not all men.” I speak from a female perspective, but we show @scroobiuspipyo (who did a video this week on this topic) “If you’re a good person and you feel attacked in this moment, you’re part of the problem. You are seeing horrific things happen to women and making it about you and how it’s affecting you. It’s a low bar just to say, ‘I wouldn’t do any of this.’ “…It kind of is all men because women understandably find it really hard to identify which men.” Speak up as men, be allies, call toxic shit out when you see it happening, check in on people, we need you to. it’s important for Positive Retail to speak out about injustice. Fuck staying silent—the industry is so backwards that the only way forward is to push for change. An ex-TS colleague said to us on Saturday, “You’re creating a movement, I love to see it.” And we are. It’s just as important for us to talk about the dark as it is to sell the surplus. Not enough brands are brave enough. What’s going on in your world and how can you help? I would love people to be brave enough to talk about this….

I've been very interested in this, especially since one of my research findings was low pay or inability to promote was a big issue for Black local health department (LHD) employees. I'm very very curious to better understand how the pay gap impacts Black women in LHDs. You know, those orgs that talk about economic stability and employment (among other things) as mechanisms to reduce racial health inequities. Research also says Black employees leave LHDs sooner than their yt counterparts. How many leave before they're vested? How many retire early w a very small pension? I have so many questions.
Black women don’t get the luxury of not caring about money or working for “exposure”. We have whole families and communities on our backs. Don’t shortchange us. #payequity #salaryequity #BBHMM

This 👇🏾is insane.. “For the ladies of the antebellum South, slavery was more than business—it was their ticket to economic freedom. Coverture laws compelled women to relinquish property and money to men when they married, but exceptions were made for slaves. As with furniture and clothing, a bride could hold on to the humans she owned and take them with her to her new husband’s estate. Fathers hoping to secure their daughters’ futures gave them slaves at baptisms, birthdays and engagements. As grown-ups, women used slaves to establish financial independence.” Throughout most of my career, I have studied global markets as well as culture in order to build strategies and teams to in order to create, align and scale innovative solutions. One should never put aside one’s culture or history when taking into account what would make a collaboration, merger and/or acquisition successful. When working with women, aligning women, building teams with women one should also not assume that deep rooted prejudices won’t exist amongst them. All women won’t just join forces, just like men have differences based upon their experiences, age, ethnicities, etc.. The question is how do you vet for these underlying cultural prejudices/ inequalities in respect and mindset from day one? Most importantly, how do you hold people accountable for their “privilege mentality” vs one of collaborative equality? I stumbled across this article and reflected on some of my experiences throughout my career when I demanded equal pay, payment for my services and/or excelled in my job/career and someone else wanted the job that I earned. I have realized that in times of uncertainty some people just revert back to their roots and treat people the way they were raised and/or according to their exposure to difference or lack there of. The role of Caucasian women in the slave trade is quite shocking to me but explains generation’s of misunderstandings and conflicts amongst women and women of color as well as underrepresented groups and the lack is support they receive for their ventures which are typically stolen and/or utilized to buildup other entities which receive funding and support. Here is an article in the economist that continues to explore what I knew, but sheds light as to the sometimes complex relationship between Caucasian women and women of color throughout history.

A few months ago, I went grocery shopping at a supermarket 🛒, where it's all too common to buy "extras" beyond the original shopping list. When I reached the Personal Care department 💆♀️ , I needed a few items like deodorant, a razor, face wash, shampoo, and so on. Despite noticing that my brother buys the same products as I do, I found that what I chose was a bit pricier than his. Immediately, I turned to Google to understand this discrepancy and discovered it's called the "PINK TAX" 💰. It refers to women buying products at a slightly higher price ⬆ due to the packaging, marketing, and branding targeted specifically towards them. 💹 From the "US Bureau of Statistics" 2020, women who worked full-time wages gained 82% of the median usual weekly earnings than men. 💼💰 Why should women have to pay more for products that provide the same services as those marketed towards men? 🤔 This concept of the "PINK TAX" highlights the gender discrimination and unfair pricing that occurs in the marketplace. Imagine this- the year I was born was the first year women were allowed to get credit cards. Congress passed the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974, which allowed women to get credit cards in their own names. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we have come a long way in a short time. In 2023, women controlled over $30 trillion in consumer spending worldwide. That number is expected to bump up to $40 trillion by 2030 alone. 78% of women say they make the purchasing decisions for their household, 91% are responsible for buying new homes, and 70% of travel decisions and payments fall under their wallet choices too. Yes, women do indeed have the power of the purse. #THISisITS

Selfemployment and investment in Agriculture and Agri-businesses can not only break the evil cycle of creation of poverty to be eradicated but also ensure food security and health for all global inhabitants by essentially and certainly reducing / minimising also the risks of and damages to climate and environment as a whole to keep the Earth safer and sustained longer! If you are ambitious and dream to lead or dominate the global business and politics of next decades; invest first and fast a small amount of your Individual capital, CSR and/or ESG-Budget or fund in community- based- agriculture to cultivate lands to increase the yield minimum doubled following the 04(Four) share basis partnership-farming with the peasants/laborers and the landowners of the respective land-community to the effect that the peasants/agri-labourers will get 25% share for their labour; land owners will get 25% share for their land ; Investors get 25% share for their capital(Money and Technology) and the remaining 25% share of the total yield-value to buy Crop insurance and Group Health Insurance for all the family-members of the peasants and the landowners' community concerned of the respective project and its unit-area wherever located throughout the world!
