I gained fresh inspiration recently after listening to the panel of esteemed speakers at ADPList Singapore Chapter's inaugural event. So I reflected upon my own design journey as well. There are often assumptions that designers and developers would be at odds. But from my own—as well as from 55 Minutes Pte Ltd's team—experience in: ✅ auditing the UX design of existing products ✅ designing, as well as re-vamping and improving entire UX UI of digital platforms ✅ conducting usability tests and prototyping tests Here's what I've uncovered about this critical collaboration: ⭐ Designers and developers are two sides of the same coin ⭐ Although they wear different hats, they have a shared goal — to create a product that works well and resonates with the end-user. But, they often speak different languages and start off with different priorities. 👉 Designers focus on aesthetics, user experience, and visual storytelling. (Yes, we care about alignments down to the pixels.) 👉 Developers, on the other hand, are all about functionality, efficiency, performance and code. This can lead to conflicts. But when they work well together, magic happens. Products that not only look good but also work seamlessly. So, how do we bridge this gap? ❤️🧠 Two things. Communication and trust. Designers and developers need to communicate what their priorities are, seek to understand each other's perspectives and why these matter to them. We need to respect each other's expertise, and keep communicating in ways that builds trust within this collaboration. A shared vocabulary and trust can do wonders. ❌ It's not about winning an argument, nor egos. ✔ It's about coming together to create the best outcomes possible. ✔ It's about involving both designers and developers as equal stakeholders right at the start of a project. ✔ It's about being curious, asking questions, listening to and respecting each other. Let's embrace the reality that complexity is part of creative work, but with a strong commitment to communicating clearly and communicating often, and creating a respectful and trusting collaboration, we can navigate the chaos together to achieve successful product outcomes. After the OMR is before the OMR. What a fantastic festival it was - again. My 10th time.💥 Indescribable and a huge thank you once again to the entire team of Philipp & Jasper. Absolutely brilliant and unbelievable what a festival and also brand has been created here in such a short time. 🙌🏼 Speaking of brands. Recently I have been thinking very intensively about the topic of brand values. Valuable brands are important for several reasons: 1️⃣ Market Positioning: They signify trust, quality, and reliability, allowing companies to differentiate themselves from competitors. 2️⃣ Customer Loyalty: Strong brands often enjoy loyal customers who are willing to pay premium prices and are more likely to remain loyal even in the face of competition. 3️⃣ Financial Performance: Valuable brands can command higher prices, resulting in increased revenue and profitability. 4️⃣ Investor Confidence: A strong brand can be an indicator of a company's stability and growth potential, attracting investors and stakeholders. 5️⃣ Employee Pride: Employees tend to feel proud to work for companies with strong brands, leading to higher morale and productivity. I find the current figures from Brand Finance, the world's leading independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy, in this case incredibly helpful. I was most impressed by TikTok the global phenomenon in the social media space, emerges as the most valuable brand from China. Its brand value has surged by an impressive 28% to USD84.2 billion. This substantial growth is a testament to the platform's ability to extract more revenue in China, where it has become a major ecommerce platform. This is leveraging the huge amount of attention it gains from users into a format which is monetizable. By 2012, we branched out to Prague, escalating the agencies to 100+ employees became "Agency of the Year" multiple times, along with numerous awards like New York Festivals or Euro Effie Grand Prix. From our experience, we began crafting advertising products. Kontentino simplifies social media workflow in 1500 agencies globally. Marek's current passion is Allfred which enables independent agencies to boost operational efficiency. Robert and Marek discuss: Business Model: Unlike other service-based companies, agencies can rely on two separate revenue streams instead of one. Workflow: Agencies have very specific processes (surprisingly similar to law firm processes) Neglected Innovation: Though trend-aware, agencies often innovate at a slower pace than their clients. People: Agencies combine varied personalities with opposing objectives and motivations.
