So thrilled to be part of the selection committee for Nonprofit ENG(INE), a philanthropic program working with America’s leading nonprofits on their most mission-critical tech priorities to 10X their impact. Founded and funded by AlleyCorp one of NYC’s most prolific venture builders and investors, ENG(INE) will deliver $1M in awards to eligible nonprofits to build cutting-edge technology that advances social & economic opportunity. Full details here: nonprofitengine.org. Leveraging AlleyCorp’s 70+ person engineering team, ENG(INE) pairs nonprofits with a team of engineers over 6 months to deliver major, strategic technological builds. At a time when corporations and startups are rapidly deploying advanced data, AI, and design tools, we believe that the greatest technologies must also be available to the best social innovators. US-based nonprofits focusing on workforce, financial security, or women & girls are encouraged to apply by Friday 7/26/2024! Interested? Start an application today: apply.nonprofitengine.org.
Many nonprofits are falling behind because of a lack of tech resources. Scaling impact requires best-in-class tech, which is why we're launching Nonprofit ENG(INE) to grant four organizations with $250k each in engineering support. Through this donation, our 70+ engineers across AlleyCorp Nord and AlleyCorp Sur will work with ENG(INE) winners over the course of 6 months to deliver major technological builds across product, AI/ML, cloud and more. Thanks to partners Code for America, Fast Forward, Robin Hood, Blue Ridge Labs, Tech:NYC, New York City Economic Development Corporation, The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, The David Prize and Siegel Family Endowment for helping make this possible. [nonprofitengine.org]

“When we debate the merits of diversity rather than focusing on the facts, we lose significant economic value.” Earlier this week, Founder & Managing Partner Lenore Champagne Beirne spoke with Meta's Jason Trimiew and Zebra Strategies' Denene Rodney about being #UnapologeticallyEntrepreneurial. One of the topics discussed was regarding DEI being seemingly under fire. This video includes a bit more context on Bright's stance on inclusivity even in the midst of challenges to DEI. #InclusiveInnovation #Wellbeing #FounderWellbeing #VentureCapital #InclusiveEconomy #Advice #MindsetShifts #Coaching #Capital #Community #TroubleSleeping #Stress #FounderStress #Fundraising #VentureCapital

Fearless Fund was built to support founders like me. Now they're being dragged through the court system to defend their work and their grant-making processes. Y'all...no one is coming to save us. We have to build community-driven tactics into our business plans. We will network differently, building scale on our terms. It's beyond time. "Historically, Black women entrepreneurs receive a fraction of what other founders get. Between 2009 and 2017, only 0.0006% of VC funding went to businesses started by Black women, according to nonprofit advocacy group Digitalundivided. Black founders — men and women — receive only about 1% of U.S. venture capital funding, according to Crunchbase." https://lnkd.in/eTybkPqA

This video covers how to address a structural barrier to innovation that foundations unwittingly create for grantees, which hinders their ability to find new ways to solve persisting community challenges independently. There is a new approach discussed that empowers grantees to create more innovative concept notes, reevaluate their current services, and identify opportunities for new or improved services. You can watch all our short video series and learn how to overcome 4 barriers to innovation we’ve commonly seen over our 16 years of increasing impact in philanthropy: https://lnkd.in/gvEY6_WM #innovation #humancentereddesign #innovationinphilanthropy
