Global humanitarian challenges are growing - even as nonprofit access and capacity to deliver technological solutions is contracting. How can social changemakers deliver outcomes at scale without a transformation in how we resource them with structural, financial, and technical support? In a recent episode of The Business of Giving Podcast, Vilas Dhar discussed with Denver Frederick the impact of this resource gap on nonprofits' ability to develop beneficial technologies - and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation's proposed path forward. With access to shared expertise, best practices, tools, compute, and data, nonprofits can innovate and create technologies that positively impact our communities. For me, this interview with / quote from, Vilas Dhar at The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, sums up exactly how we should be thinking about AI (and technology more broadly). “I think too often, we have lived in a paradigm where technology is something that’s used against us. Sometimes it’s something that is done to us, and maybe in a few glimmers of hope, it’s done for us. But very rarely […] is technology something that’s done by us. If ever there was an urgent need (not just a coolness design motivation) for human centered design, it is now. But we need the right people at the table to design for the multitude of problems we face as a species, in order to turn them into opportunities. I hope more organizations have The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation at the table.

T - 1 week until the Impact Partners Summit! Who will I see out in the Bay? 🌉 I’m so excited to be taking the stage to talk about “Ecosystem-Led Growth” 💚 And after dozens and dozens of webinars & podcasts.. finally getting to present in person! 🎉 I’m a firm believer in the potential of the impact economy - and that our world will need a significantly larger & stronger impact-based economy to make it long-term 🌎 In this session I’ll be highlighting some of the most common challenges impact businesses face to sustainably grow and how those can be reframed as opportunities 🖼️ And I’ll give specific examples of where those hurdles showed up for Pond and how we’re making them launching pads at Chariot 🐸 Spoiler alert - it’s all about a deeper understanding of the impact ecosystem and aligning your business for mutual benefits all around 🙏🏼 Excited to see you there! #nonprofit #philanthropy #fundraising #startup #socialimpact

We also discuss the shifting expectations in corporate philanthropy, seeking out strategic partners vs. donors, the importance of cross-sector collaborations for accelerating #SocialImpact, and the need for more meaningful metrics to measure these efforts. I help nonprofit leaders achieve bold, audacious impact goals, faster and smarter. || Get resources to scale your impact the right way 👉🏾 brookerichiebabbage.com/leadershipforward
I don’t know about you, but I love a good, insightful prediction! 🔮 Some people may think that predictions about the state of the world are somewhere between hubris and a distraction. 🙅🏾♀️ I don’t agree at all. There are people who are experts in what they do, and we’re only made stronger and more effective in our own work when they graciously leverage that expertise to help us on our journey: ➡ What to look out for ➡ What to prepare for ➡ Where to expend energy ➡ What we can afford to ignore. That’s why I invited a group of incredible nonprofit experts and leaders to share their 2024 predictions about social impact work. In this week’s episode of the "Nonprofit Mastermind Podcast," you’ll hear 8 predictions from some of our sector’s most influential experts in fundraising, tech, operations, and marketing. Contributors: 🎯 Tim Lockie's insights on non-tech human roles. 🎯 Perry Radford's take on engagement-centered fundraising. 🎯 Heather Nelson, MBA, CFRE's views on corporate partnerships. 🎯 Christina Tzavaras Edwards' predictions on fundraising and growth. 🎯 Danielle Gines' forecast on programming and development. 🎯 Kel Haney's fundraising insights. 🎯 Rachel Bearbower 🌱 on productivity and systems. 🎯 Rhea Wong's perspective on presence and authenticity.

I listened to two podcasts today while doing some yardwork. The first was Alexander Lapa's interview with Paul Morris on the Agents of Nonprofit podcast: https://lnkd.in/eYFP5_9m. The second was Accenture's Built for Change episode on Spatial Computing: https://lnkd.in/ezPrTxQE. It was an interesting contrast with Morris and Lapa discussing the fears and constraints (often self-imposed) nonprofits must overcome to innovate while Built for Change features artists and organizations who are able to dream and change paradigms in part because they are well-funded and supported. The biggest challenges (and they are BIG) facing us as a society can absolutely be solved through working together and sharing knowledge, data, and resources. Who has great stories of companies and nonprofits working together to tackle problems? Who is inspiring you today?
