What is the value of ”Take Your Daughter to Work Day? We think it is education and empathy, so the child knows what the parent does daily, but it is so much more. It instills lifelong work values. Meahgan Gibson attended a “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. To this day she reminds me of a few choice words I stated during a staff meeting but she also pursued a career in Leisure and Hospitality. More importantly she picked up values like; everybody is critical to success (especially the lowest paid hourly associates), every person has a story, treat people with dignity and respect, and if they have a name tag, user their name. Grow by trying new things that others shy away from. Powerful words are “thank you” and “can you help me”, and assisting others even if you do not have time.  Today this was in my feed. I had no idea she was working on this.  Biscuits and socks, who knew? But more importantly, a young professional (from a generation many professionals belittle) leading a project that reflects well on the brand and does good for the community. Also hats off to Dennis Pfaff, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Cracker Barrel for creating an organization culture where young professional growth occurs. Take your daughter to work and as a leader, your relationships matter more than you know. #cio #leadership

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), globally, an estimated 1 in 3 adolescents aged 13-15 years experience bullying, and around 20% of women and 5-10% of men report being sexually abused as children. Health injustice refers to disparities in access to healthcare services, resources, and opportunities, leading to unequal health outcomes among different populations. Health justice, on the other hand, advocates for fair and equitable access to healthcare for all individuals, regardless of their socio-economic status, ethnicity, or geographic location. In rural Sierra Leone, a significant number of children, women, and girls lack proper access to health services. According to UNICEF, approximately 80% of the population in Sierra Leone lives in rural areas, where access to healthcare facilities is limited, resulting in inadequate healthcare for many, especially children, women, and girls. A nonviolent school and health clinic provide safe and supportive environments for children, women, and communities to thrive. By promoting peace and security, they foster a conducive atmosphere for learning and healing.
