The event aimed to discuss the new legislation on Neonatal Screening, Nº 14.154, which has expanded the testing scope from 6 to 54 diseases. This new law represents a significant step forward in healthcare, as it has the potential to save lives and positively impact society. Renowned specialists in the field were invited to speak on essential topics, including the importance of early diagnosis of rare diseases, which is critical to ensure appropriate treatment and improve the quality of life for patients. The speakers also discussed the challenges and opportunities presented by the new law, including how to ensure effective implementation and universal access to the expanded test. Additionally, the role of technology and innovation in neonatal screening was discussed, including solutions that can optimize the process and increase the accuracy of results.
