PR has a PR problem. Public relations can't be effectively delivered to its full potential without better people representation.
This merry PRCA band of advocates, activists and people-who-think-things-should-be-better-by-now, marshalled by the indomitable Ishtar Schneider, won't fix it on our own, and make no pretence of trying to do so.
That does nothing to take way from the privilege it is to work together and see how far we can carry the ball forward between us, with as much support as we can muster across the sector. Keep your eyes peeled for more to come and if you have ideas or input for any of our core workstreams, please get in touch 🙏

I had the best time learning from women who have established themselves in their careers and are willing to share their knowledge. It was truly enlightening, and I feel more grounded in advancing my career in public affairs.
Thank you to Women in Public Affairs (WiPA) for hosting an incredible event and bringing us together.
Key takeaways:
📈 Everyone has imposter syndrome, so don't worry if your career path looks different from someone else’s in a position you aspire to.
📝 Managing your manager's and co-workers' time and expectations when working on projects together helps everyone get ahead.
🤝 When networking, focus 80% on personal topics and 20% on work to develop deeper relationships.
As part of our campaign focused around women advocating for themselves, we have held a series of mentoring events to support women do just that.
Yesterday we hosted a fantastic junior-mid level speed mentoring session this morning with expert female leaders from across the public affairs industry, hosted by Hanover Communications
Touching on a variety of topics including career progression, managing up and down, and networking, this event provided a relaxed and informal way for our members to receive tips and advice for progressing their careers.
Thank you so much to our mentors!

Happy International Women's Day!
Check out the below example of how one brand/organization is finally doing things differently so they can give the women in their profession the recognition they deserve. There's still a long way to go, but it's a start!
We usually don't post about awards. It hasn't, historically, been our style. Instead, our team celebrates amongst ourselves. We call the client to give them the good news. A statuette is carefully placed on a shelf in our office.
However, today marks a special exception. We're excited to share that not one, but two of our projects have been nominated for the Anthem Awards, a festival recognizing mission-driven work.
These projects share a common thread: they are solutions-focused and elevate the voices of individuals and organizations we deeply believe in. And each project serves as a reminder of the privilege I have in working with the talented team at Cultivator Content Labs.
Below are the links where you can watch and, if moved, vote for them in their respective categories, helping bring their powerful messages to a broader audience.

Do you champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in your workplace? Nominate your company for one of the prestigious DEI awards at Women In Travel CIC awards in June! Alessandra Alonso shares more in the video below.
They're not looking for perfection, but rather genuine dedication and tangible actions towards fostering diversity and belonging. With just 3 tailored questions that won't take more than 20 minutes to answer, you could be on your way to winning in one of four categories: DEI Professionals Team, DEI Champions of the Year, Inclusive Talent & Recruitment Leader of the Year, and Allyship Heroes of the Year.
If you're part of a team leading the charge in driving DEI initiatives within your company, show us how your team influences and educates colleagues at all levels. If your company is actively moving from talk to action in the realm of DEI, share how you're setting the standard for inclusive workplaces and campaigns. If you've implemented innovative talent management and recruitment initiatives to harness the power of diversity, let us know how you're reaching beyond conventional channels to represent all individuals in society. And if your company excels in being an ally to women and diverse groups, both internally and externally, highlight your allyship strategies and programs.
Your efforts will be judged by an independent, diverse, and distinguished panel of industry experts (one of which is me!).
Don't miss this opportunity to stand out and inspire others! The deadline is approaching quickly.
