Have you ever seen a cobot perform a battery swap on a drone? Me neither, until now! 🚁
Check out this unique application from VIKASO® | Robotics 4.0. They have demonstrated how you can use a collaborative robot to automatically swap drone batteries. When the drone lands, the arm comes out on an external axis and uses its wrist-mounted camera to find the battery. It then pulls it out, grabs a freshly charged one, and inserts it. The drone is then ready to go - all without human intervention. This type of solution will be a critical part of the infrastructure as drones become more common in our lives. 👏

🚀✨ Discover the future of urban delivery! Zipline has developed Platform 2, a revolutionary #DroneDeliverySystem that redefines precision and efficiency. Inspired by the simplicity and grace of dolphins, this system combines a large hovering #drone with a smaller "droid" that delivers packages with one-meter accuracy. 📦🎯
The #infrastructure for loading and staging the drones does not require a dedicated base as with Platform 1, but uses a large chute attached to the side of a building to reload the drone and make it ready for the next #delivery.
#VisualSensors on the drone detect the #delivery location and check for obstacles, while the thrusters compensate for wind and movements of the mother drone. With a service radius of 16 kilometers and the ability to distribute accurately even in high winds, Zipline is ready to conquer the delivery market. 🙌

There is still no technology for producing non-biological materials capable of replacing, even in a precarious way, muscle tissue, light bones and the generation of energy at the cellular level. It will take decades of research and the use of nanotechnology, bioengineering, cellular engineering and a divine touch to reach the technological level contained in the simplest living beings, even single-celled organisms, protozoa or insects.
These organisms are true miracles of natural technology.
