#Barbie did it again! Last week they introduced the first blind Barbie doll and a black Barbie doll with Down Syndrome. Despite a decline in the toy industry, this nearly 100-year-old brand is going strong. How? When Barbie releases a new doll, it creates connections with new generations while building on changes previous generations want. Each new release builds positive associations, making innovation easier to embrace. Barbie’s dreams have evolved over time: ✨To me, Barbie symbolized beauty and ambition. ✨To my children, she represents diversity and inclusivity. I choose Barbie dolls not for nostalgia, but to support the world they create. My kids love seeing themselves and their friends reflected in that world. ✨Barbie speaks to our similarities across generations, aligning with emerging values and inspiring change. From homemaker to president, Barbie adapts to reflect and drive societal progress. By tapping into intergenerational values, Barbie is able to keep its relevance.

Representation and belonging matter in all aspects of life. Growing up, I didn't look like anyone around me. Not my family, classmates, or even my dolls. As a little girl with brown skin and frizzy pigtails, I longed to look like those around me. It may seem trivial to some, but the lack of representation impacted my self-esteem and that of many other children. Barbie was a beautiful and fabulous creation; and everyone loved her. But for me and other black children, for a very long time, there were no dolls that looked like us. In the 1930s, two psychologists found that this lack of representation had a significant impact on the self-esteem of black children. It's essential to recognize that representation matters. It can impact how we see ourselves and how we fit into the world around us. I invite you to read my story and learn more about why representation and belonging matter. Even if it's Barbie! 🌟 What can we learn from Barbie? 🎀 Recently, I found myself intrigued by the stark contrast in reactions to the Barbie movie among my friends. While many of my female friends thoroughly enjoyed it, some of my male friends seemed quick to criticize. Feeling the need to form my own opinion, I decided to watch it, and I must say, I found it rather enjoyable. 💁♀️ It got me thinking: it's so easy to criticize, isn't it? What does that accomplish? Instead of focusing on the negatives, why not embrace the positives? 🌈 One particular quote from Barbie resonated deeply with me and has become somewhat of a personal mantra: "Today is a Beautiful Day. Just like yesterday was and just like tomorrow will be, and the day after that, and the day after that." Imagine if we all started our days with this mindset. How would it change not just our individual days, but also our businesses and ultimately, our world? 🌍 I'd love to hear your thoughts. Let's spread some positivity! ✨ #Attitude #BeautifulDay #Marketing #StartYourDay #BeckyAmble #FutureFocus Future Focus Image: Barbie Promo

“It is literally impossible to be a woman. You are so beautiful, and so smart, and it kills me that you don’t think you’re good enough. Like, we have to always be extraordinary, but somehow we’re always doing it wrong. You have to be thin, but not too thin. And you can never say you want to be thin. You have to say you want to be healthy, but also you have to be thin. You have to have money, but you can’t ask for money because that’s crass. You have to be a boss, but you can’t be mean. You have to lead, but you can’t squash other people’s ideas. You’re supposed to love being a mother, but don’t talk about your kids all the damn time. You have to be a career woman, but also always be looking out for other people. You have to answer for men’s bad behavior, which is insane, but if you point that out, you’re accused of complaining. You’re supposed to stay pretty for men, but not so pretty that you tempt them too much or that you threaten other women because you’re supposed to be a part of the sisterhood. But always stand out and always be grateful. But never forget that the system is rigged. So find a way to acknowledge that but also always be grateful. You have to never get old, never be rude, never show off, never be selfish, never fall down, never fail, never show fear, never get out of line. It’s too hard! It’s too contradictory and nobody gives you a medal or says thank you! And it turns out in fact that not only are you doing everything wrong, but also everything is your fault. I’m just so tired of watching myself and every single other woman tie herself into knots so that people will like us. And if all of that is also true for a doll just representing women, then I don’t even know.” America Ferrera's Iconic Barbie Speech To all women out there, remember you are extra ordinary and you are doing an amazing job. First Ever #Blind #Barbie !! Mattel has made a big leap towards #inclusivity by introducing its first-ever #blindBarbie doll, which comes with braille packaging. The word 'Barbie' is written in #braille on the box, making it accessible to those with visual impairments. This incredible doll was created with the help of the American Foundation for the Blind (#AFB). Every detail, from the doll’s appearance to its packaging, was carefully designed to represent people with #blindness or low vision accurately. Mattel's effort shows how important it is for children to see #diversity in their toys, helping them understand and #accept differences from a young age. This initiative is a powerful reminder of the need for #representation and inclusivity in all areas of life. Businesses, big and small, need to #prioritise inclusivity. It's not just about ticking boxes; it's about creating a workplace where everyone feels like they #belong. When we embrace diversity, we unlock new perspectives, foster innovation, and build stronger teams. VC-Owner LinkedIn LinkedIn News India LinkedIn Guide to Creating

"Addressing the dream gap is crucial for empowering the next generation. By enriching girls' education, increasing visibility of female role models, and fostering diverse interests without gender bias, we can build a foundation that nurtures confidence and ambition. Promoting gender-neutral toys and activities also plays a vital role in this development. These initiatives are essential to help young girls realize that their potential is boundless. Let's commit to these changes to ensure that every girl believes in her ability to achieve her dreams." With gender-neutral toys, kids are free to explore their interests based on their preferences, not according to how society pigeonholes them according to their sex or gender, says Ms. Dr.Elizabeth Lombardo, PhD, author of the book From Entitlement to Intention: Raising Purpose-Driven Children.

Regarding the Barbie movie. It wasn’t necessarily the best movie I have ever seen. I tend to like mysteries the most- however- the message within the movie was a good one- Quite frankly, it is hard to be a woman who is valued, who is appreciated for who she is not only on the outside, but also on the inside. You feel you have to try to be perfect daily and it never seems like it’s enough. It doesn’t matter if it’s personal or professional. It is hard to find someone who appreciates you for both your body and your brain. As a woman, it is almost impossible to tell someone, especially the one you like above all of the others, how you feel about them without having a complete and total panic attack for fear of them kicking you in the gut once you do say it. It is nearly impossible to be yourself sometimes, although you can get to a point where you realize it’s okay to love yourself the way you are- perfectly imperfect. Loving yourself and being able to see the beauty in someone else, despite any so-called imperfections, instead viewing them as pure PERFECTION no matter what, is something we should all aspire to in our lives. So here we are trying to live up to the hype on a daily basis while knowing that true beauty comes from within… And yet, as today’s Oscar nominations have pointed out: It is impossible to be a self loving Barbie in a world full of Clueless Kens. #barbie #oscars #selfesteem #womenempowerment #selflove #selfconfidence
