Don’t take our word for it... 💬 ... hear from some of our current students why they think the MPS Branding program is the right choice for a master's degree: “We are not just taught how to do branding, we are taught how to think, act and behave like a branding professional” - Jackson D. “We get to learn from branding professionals who are at the forefront of the field right now. Professionals from JKR, P&G, Interbrand and more.” - Natalie M. “It exposed me to different people and cultures. It showed me the merit of working in collaborative environments.” - Stuti S. ONLY TWO MORE DAYS 😱 With only two days remaining before the final thesis presentations, our students have experienced every possible emotion these past six weeks. They have been both exhilarated and drained. They have had moments of clarity and of confusion. They have alternated between loving and loathing the process. As they approach the finish line, they are filled with a bittersweet mix of anticipation and reluctance. They are eager to complete their work and are also feeling hesitant for the journey to end. It's been an intense and wonderful 10.5 months together! Join us in cheering our students as they inch closer to that finish line. Picture yourself here next year? 5 Things I Wish I Knew in My First Year of Undergrad: 1. Importance of participating in Competitions: They’re great for skill-building and networking. 2. Personal branding matters: Start early to stand out. 3. Every year counts: Your first year is just as important as your last. 4. Focus on Hard Skills: Invest time in developing practical abilities. 5. Explore Diverse Interests: Trying new things can lead to unexpected passions. What’s that one thing you regret not knowing in your first year? I want to know😬 #college #undergrad #firstyearstudent

Lots of students have been starting at #Uni over the week and it’s a really exciting time! I started at Bangor University way back in 2017 and it was the right mix of awesome and terrifying all at once. I was a #FirstGen throwing myself into something pretty unknown, exactly like tens of thousands of #students are doing now, first gen or not. I didn't need any tips, but if I could've told myself (or anyone starting) anything 7 years on it would've been these 9 things: 👇 1. You're not going to be the "dummest" in the class. - Particularly if you never felt very academic, it's easy to think you'll stick out like a sore-thumb in a dunce hat. It's called #ImposterSyndrome, we all get it. 2. You're not in competition with your classmates. - People compare grades, that's ok. Don't overthink it. Good or bad, you're running your own race and you're doing fine. Focus on that. 3. First year still kinda counts. - I hear lots of folks say "first year doesn't count" as a soft encourager to make people enjoy their first year more and definitely enjoy your first year! At the same time, even if it doesn't count on your final transcript, put in some effort. You'll know where you're actually struggling and you don't know what opportunities might come your way because you're doing well. 4. Try not to go to class hungover. - It'll happen occasionally and that's not the end of the world, but your class time is the most valuable per minute and you want to make the most of it. 5. Make friends in wide circles. - Don't put all your eggs in one basket. People come and go and move on quick at Uni. Have friends in your flat, on your course, in that sports club you like and in as many other places as you can. When you get old like me you'll call a lot of these people your "#network" and they'll be lifelines at Uni and beyond. 6. Say yes to things. - It's totally fine to say yes, try something out and not like it or think it was a waste of time. If you say no to too much, you'll miss out on all of the wild things you never knew you liked. Honestly, just say yes and try it. 7. Think carefully before you sleep with your flat- or course mates. - 'Nuff said, you're all adults. 8. Ask for help before crisis point. - Everything you're doing is new and you're not going to be perfect or on top of everything all of the time. There are lots of people who can help though, but ask them to help before everything's on fire. Your friends, staff at Uni, family. There are lots of really kind people. 9. Don't worry about being "cool". - You'll be really cool in your own way (see photo attached) Find your people, march to the beat of your own drum. Don't change you for some random person. There's no "right or wrong" to starting at #University. Everyone finds their own way (even if Uni turns out not to be for you like it wasn't for my sister and leaving is the best step). I've definitely missed some good advice for starting Uni. Got anything else you wanted shared? 👇

Tuesday was results day for me and my fellow OU students. Being woken up when feeling under the weather isn't always great, but discovering that I passed another year with a Distinction made it totally worth it! 🌟 Studying can be challenging, but the rewards are immense. I highly recommend it to anyone considering studying with The Open University. One more year to go! 💪 #OUlife #Studying #MarketingDegree #BusinessManagement

COMMENCEMENT: WHY PARTICIPATE? I believe rituals are important and I never shy away from a bit of pomp and circumstance. The culminating event across education is the graduation ceremony - the time our students commence, transition, and take a leap of faith into the next chapter of their lives. If you work on a college campus and you are not planning to attend, support or be “voluntold” to participate in the ceremony, I encourage you to rethink your intentions. In my opinion, nothing is as fulfilling as taking in the sights and sounds of commencement… · Families bursting with pride, especially the families of our first-generation students · Bedazzled mortar boards created with gratitude and pride · Friend groups taking selfies and documenting one last campus memory · Familiar students who suddenly appear different - as career (and life)-ready individuals (ohhhh, the transformation from the roll-out-of-bed look that is so familiar). If being a part of the ceremonies is not an option, I encourage you to find a moment to wander around campus in the days leading up to the culminating ritual. · Soon-to-be graduates snapping photos at iconic locations on campus · Students strolling to their classrooms (one last time) having just picked up their caps and gowns · Award winners scrambling to get to recognition programs having just completed their capstone presentations · Friends gathered knowing their time in proximity to one another is coming to a close Enjoy the vibe, the buzz, the excitement… it is, after all, a small glimpse at the fruits of our labor. Take it in as it rarely appears. Congratulations to the graduates and thanks to YOU who contributed to their journeys. Let the pomp and circumstance begin! #Professional2Prof # NIUHESA #HigherEducation #StudentAffairs
