Last month, many of you participated in a LinkedIn poll on the top three EU cities for life sciences. Here are the results:
▪️ 56% voted for Eindhoven, Stockholm, and Amsterdam.
▪️ 38% guessed Düsseldorf, Munich, and Berlin.
▪️ 6% selected London, Paris, and Dublin.
All of you were on point, as these cities are in the top-10 list, according to the 2022 Investment Monitor article. However, Eindhoven, Stockholm, and Amsterdam are in the top three spots.
1️⃣ – Eindhoven leads Europe in life sciences due to its strong economic position, renowned expertise, and thriving industry ecosystems. These factors foster innovation, collaboration, and investment opportunities across pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical technology, and animal health sectors.
2️⃣ – Stockholm, Scandinavia's premier cluster, nurtures collaboration among government, industry, and academia. This synergy has led to the establishment of 15-20 new life science companies annually, backed by prestigious academic institutions and vast medical databases. Sweden's framework of individual researcher ownership further supports profitable ventures.
3️⃣ – Amsterdam stands out with its Amsterdam Life Sciences District, promoting open innovation and boosting market activity & investment. Strategic initiatives like Strohm's plant expansion position the region for accelerated growth and make it increasingly attractive to businesses.
