With the proper planning and execution, a movement. But it won’t be easy. Conservatives (and those who believe higher education should be more about learning/facing intellectual dissent and less about indoctrination) will have to dig in and apply relentless pressure everywhere they can, whether financially or otherwise. Liberal groupthink has academia in a chokehold (with very few exceptions), and for far too long, individuals who dare challenge this groupthink have been silenced or placed at the margins of their classes or institutions as a whole. What we see now on campuses across America with students supporting Hamas and calling for the abolition of the Israeli State (“From the river to the sea…”) is a direct result of a higher education system that has failed generation after generation. It should not be controversial to unashamedly support students, faculty, and staff of the Jewish faith while they are under siege each day on American college campuses. I hope we take this opportunity to re-evaluate what makes America great so we can once again re-claim our institutions of higher learning and ensure individuals of all religions, races, and belief systems can feel safe and free to speak their mind.
Conservatives see a chance to remake college campuses as long-simmering tensions over speech and diversity boil over with the Israel-Hamas war.

Build a better you Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) education that inspires. - Author, Film Producer, Podcast Host, Keynote Speaker, NIL Thought Leader,
Do we need even greater guard rails in high school sports? I still believe Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) will bring more significant opportunities to high school sports than college. Two reasons for this are the increasing involvement of high school athletes and parents, and the potential for positive impact. We must carefully guard against predatory behavior toward athletes and families more vulnerable than college athletes. I would like to see states and governing bodies require education for all athletes and make it a requirement before any athlete can receive an NIL-related opportunity. Do you agree that we should make NIL education a requirement? The Players NIL. Are you concerned about the politicization of history teaching in this country, especially when it comes to issues of race? If so, here's a small thing you can do — vote for the session I proposed for the next SXSW EDU conference on "Teaching Difficult Histories: Private Colleges & Public K-12." Please take a look before August 18 (you need to create a free account to vote): https://lnkd.in/eukVivgi. Here is the short description: "In many states, honest teaching about difficult topics in public schools is under assault. Many teachers feel constrained by local school boards, state officials, and national opinion-makers when it comes to addressing the complex histories of slavery, racial violence, and race relations. Many public universities are facing the same pressures. Fortunately, private colleges and universities are stepping up to offer resources and support for K-12 teachers (and even public universities). This session will discuss political headwinds and the practical work of public-private collaborations." We have a wonderful panel of experts from two CIC member institutions —Austin College (TX) and Flagler College (FL) — and Yale's Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition.

I had the privilege of sharing the importance of breadth as embodied in the College of the Ozarks general education curriculum which prepares students to tackle a wide range of tasks at work and in life. Breadth is important for engineering graduates, half of whom are not in explicit engineering roles, as well as any graduate who wants to be prepared for the wonderfully diverse world we live in. https://lnkd.in/gWBcYERe
I am passionate about equipping and resourcing Christian colleges and universities and their faculty to faithfully educate students.
It was a pleasure to moderate a discussion at the Faithful Education Convocation last night about how the General Education Program here at College of the Ozarks helps prepare students to thrive in their God-given #vocations and #callings. Thanks to Stacy McNeill, Ed.D., Mark Nowack, and Joseph Western for sharing your insights as part of our faculty panel. Thanks also to Janna Goodwin for all your help organizing things behind the scenes. Finally, thanks to all the faculty here at the College who invest your time, energy, and passion into teaching General Education courses!
