How can we shape conferences in the metaverse? 🔍✅ nextReality.Hamburg e.V. and Bizzlogic GmbH have the answer and created an extraordinary great setting at #XRCon23 to show that conferences in the metaverse work brilliantly. Using a browser-based access, all participants created their own avatars through which they entered the event. Hence, it was possible to view the stage from different angles and also to exchange contact details directly. A big shoutout to Johannes Crilly, Fabio Buccheri & team for this excellent technical implementation. Many thanks to Sarah Wienberg-Schwarz and Simon Graff for inviting me to share recent findings from our metaverse research in a talk. My talk pointed out recent strategies to capture #groupdynamics in the #metaverse, based on my latest work together with Nale Lehmann-Willenbrock, Frank Steinicke, Anita Blanchard and Sebastian Rings. It was truly an inspiring experience to follow my own presentation (previously recorded, shown in the picture) as an avatar and later to answer all questions of the participants on stage in the metaverse. Two key learnings for me: 🌅 New perspectives: Perception in space opens up creative approaches and enables new design possibilities (e.g., objects in space, sound options etc.). 🤝Simplified networking: Digital business cards make networking easier. Concise keywords can also be used to directly identify who offers what and what they are looking for. And of course, first and foremost: It is super fun to get to know this new framework 🚀 Has been a pleasure to meeting you in the #metaverse Paulina Porten, Elmar Arunov, Jörg Muschiol, Gayatri Parameswaran, Dennis Briddigkeit, Mathias Keswani, Johannes Kilp, Robertino Pereira and Oswin Breidenbach 😇 Looking forward to the next gatherings in the metaverse. Apparently, the experience will be even more intense when all participants could connect with their own #VRgoggles in the #future. #metaverse #XRCon2023 #meetings #VR #conference #immersion #avatar
