Understanding the facts is critical when talking with minors about the risks and harms associated with alcohol use and binge drinking. If we don’t talk about the risks of underage drinking and substance use, our kids might not see any harm in trying alcohol, or other substances. Having a conversation allows us to set clear rules about what is expected from our kids when it comes to alcohol and other drugs. The Partnership for a Drug Free NH offers tips and resources on how to start and continue the conversation: https://bit.ly/45a07hE #ThePartnershipNH

Drug prohibition fuels illicit markets and puts users at risk. Legal regulation would better protect health and dignity of drug-users. While law enforcement would highlight the weapons that are seized during decampment process, we must understand that the organized crime such as gang groups flourish due to drug prohibition laws. Decriminalization without regulation is not enough. We need legalization. Displacement can create tension and exacerbate issues related to prohibited drug use and associated violence [1]. Housing insecurity resulting from gentrification can also impact access to harm reduction and other health services for drug users [2]. For drug users, these health impacts can be particularly detrimental, as users may already be dealing with the physical and mental health consequences of substance use. 1. https://lnkd.in/gbFqNZRS 2. https://lnkd.in/gn7VKx3K #Decampment #StreetSweeps #Prohibition #WarOnDrugs #DrugPolicy

Legalization of Drugs: Looking at different experiences of legalization. Looking at what “ingredients “ to the recipe of health we are missing. Something to think about, as this issue gets looked at: how do we address people’s basic needs? How do we as a society treat and see people who struggle with drug use? Not just the words- how do we work with the people, provide people opportunities to be excited about their lives even when substance use exists in their lives? How do we make sure that people have the tools to live a good life? Health care issue vs social issue. Lots to think about. https://lnkd.in/gDGK8prV
