#Public #Development #Banks supply two-thirds of the world’s food systems financing, collectively investing US $2-3 trillion per year, and play a crucial role in making food systems more sustainable, resilient and equitable. In 2021, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) launched the #PDB #Platform for Green and Inclusive Food Systems, partnering with Agence Française de Développement and CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. The #Platform facilitates exchanges among its 130 member PDBs from 98 countries to promote best practices and provide peer-to-peer technical assistance to build capacity for food systems transformation and climate action. Three member PDBs, La Banque Agricole in Senegal, FIRA in Mexico, and the ARDB Bank of Cambodia, share their experience with the Platform in #financing #climate #adaptation. Samantha Schneider & Stephanie Irvin, MBA have compiled our annual OPEB Trend report with pretty graphics and great information. The good news is that we see 92% of towns have begun pre-funding and 19% of them are over 20% funded (a long way to go but it's a start!). Higher municipal bond rates mean higher discount rates (and lower liabilities). And, asset returns in 2022, 2023 and YTD in 2024 have been outstanding in the equity markets which have helped to increase those funded ratios. Should you contribute more? Should you contribute more often? Should you invest more aggressively? Only you can answer but keep in mind these are long-term liabilities that are often the largest liability on a municipal balance sheet. #stateandlocal #localgov #gasb75
