Well... Yes, and no... This reminds me of a small survey I did last month. I asked people what is the most important thing: your motivation, the effort you've put in, and the results of that effort. It was a small survey of an uncontrolled population, so don't take the results as gospel. On top came "motivation." The WHY. Second came "the effort" (that's the equivalent to "how far we are from where we started). The last one, "results," didn't get a single vote... I think that motivation is important for the "Personality Compatibility" component of #trust. Both the "effort" and the "results" are important for the "Competence" component. But, does the result mean nothing? Does it really not matter whether you crossed the finish line or not? There is a big difference between crossing the finish line and crossing it, so to some degree I agree that how far you came is more important than how much is left, but I would claim that in most cases, what's more important, is simply crossing the freaking finish line... Thank you, Nanette!
So simple. So obvious. So profound. A good message for all of us.
