As I am in lovely city #Jeddah this week so Today i went to gathering of old and new friends and they ask about Category management 🤗 and the routine answer was it's a strategic approach to managing the procurement and supply of goods and services. It requires a combination of skills such as strategic thinking, negotiation, financial acumen, communication, and relationship building. To improve your skills in category management, you can: - Pursue professional certifications: العلم مش بس في الرأس👏 Earning a professional certification can help you improve the skills required for this position. I am highly recommend to be certified internationally from Category management associations, if you need any help i can guide you as I was the first one who take this step in my group during commercial to be certified as professional category manger and professional strategic advisor and really help me and my team alot it takes effort and time but deserve 😀 #CPCM #CPSA My second advice is getting local course in category management افهم طبيعة العملاء والضيوف اكيد فيه فرق بين كل بلد والتانيه especially for team who work in MENA region and I can also help you to recommend different sources as they are really professional 👍 Third advice is try to gain real-time experience: مش مهم بكام في الأول استثمر في نفسك If you're a graduate planning a career as a category manager, consider joining as an apprentice in sales, marketing and managerial roles in retail enterprises. This can help you gain practical knowledge and exposure to the industry. If you're already working as a category manager, you can seek feedback from your peers, managers, and suppliers and identify areas for improvement. You can also take up new projects or challenges that can help you enhance your skills and showcase your potential and don't hesitate to accept that challenge and last one Update, observe and practice: النظريات والأصول موجوده وثابته بس اللي بيفرق التطور والخبره من أماكن ومجالات مختلفه لو فضلت تعمل اللي بتعمله هتوصل لنفس المكان I LOVE DIVERSITY Category management is a dynamic field that requires constant learning and adaptation. You can update your skills by reading books, articles, blogs, and newsletters about management theories, techniques, and styles. You can also observe and learn from successful category managers in your industry or network. Additionally, you can practice your skills by applying them to real-life scenarios, such as negotiating with a supplier, developing a category strategy, or analysing sales data which is one of core talent every category mangager must have . I hope these tips are helpful for you. If you need more guidance or assistance, please let me know. #saudiarabia #uae #leadership #commercial #marketing #businessdevelopment #retailmarketing #retail #pharmacy #dermocosmetics #skincare #pharmaceutical #gotomarket #strategy

Helping businesses to optimize their procurement - Continam | Authentic Single Origin Spices - CANELATÉ
The Secret Sauce to Staying RELEVANT! On Monday, while at Keells Mount Lavinia, I witnessed a mini meeting that left a lasting impression. A manager, speaking to two fresh trainees and a couple of staff members, emphasized the importance of KPIs and customer satisfaction. It was a textbook moment: a quick standing meeting while ensuring operations continued smoothly (reason why some missing in the pic), with a few photos snapped to document effective communication. The word "KPI" instantly took me back to my early days at Nestlé, where I interned as an Operational Buyer. Under the guidance of Sathiyenthra Panchadcharam, Kanchana Fernando and Sudath Mahagedara, I gained a clear understanding of company KPIs as an Intern and how my role fit into them. This knowledge was a game-changer, significantly boosting my career growth. Knowing how my daily tasks contributed to the company's KPIs kept me aligned with the organization's long term vision and strategy, ensuring I stayed RELEVANT. It's heartening to see John Keells Holdings PLC management cascading company objectives down to the ground level. When you hear KPIs being discussed at the front lines, you know #JKH is doing it right. Kudos to the team! Krishan Balendra Staying RELEVANT means linking your work to the bigger picture. How do you connect your daily tasks to your company's KPIs? #CareerGrowth #KPIs #CustomerSatisfaction #StayRelevant
