Mark Shepherd’s Post

It was great to be part of the World Water-Tech Innovation Summit in London, listen to some fantastic speakers and panel discussions, and watch how the pace and scope of innovation in the water sector is proceeding.   In our panel of Expanding Reuse in the Face of Water Scarcity, we had an opportunity to debate how the impact of climate change and water scarcity is affecting both people and industries alike. Alternative sources of water, from both a centralised (in the instance of water utilities) and decentralised (in the instances of industry) perspective have cemented themselves in our society in our journey to reduce water stress, decrease dependency on scarce water resources and increase water sustainability.   Water reuse forms part of sustainability planning and water stewardship for industry, which is being increasingly subjected to government regulation as well as voluntary and mandatory reporting. Volumetric Based Accounting (VBA) for water has now been accepted as part of financial reporting.   We at #GWF take this to heart. Part of our contribution towards making a tangible difference is providing practical, valuable, and actionable service and decision support systems through our WaterLeader initiative. Our WATER RISK DETECTOR and WATER STEWARDSHIP tools directly support the private sector in achieving their sustainability goals and commitments, providing operational oversight, site accreditation, reporting and disclosure.   Reach out to Gary Vincent, Brynn Williams, Chris Bold and Markus Stolz to find out how we can assist industry in improving water efficiency, promote water stewardship and assist with voluntary and mandatory reporting.   #WorldWaterTech #GWF #waterstewardship #sustainabilityreporting #sustainablebusiness #WTRLDR #waterleader
