This picture was taken in 2020, I was battling with my mental health for the first time in my life. I hit a wall, hard. I have never been in such a dark place and it was hard to get out of that place, really hard. It took months to get well again. Over the last few years I have worked so hard on protecting my mental health. It has however been really tough over the last year as I have battled with myself over my purpose in life. Up until recently I felt completely lost. Thankfully with an amazing husband and family by my side I found my way through. Not everyone does. Fantastic morning networking with the Chamber of Commerce. Saw some very familiar faces, people I had worked with previously and also met so many new faces who already "knew me" from LinkedIn 😂 The theme in conversation today was around sales and how things have changed and that small businesses are struggling right now. The thing is the way people buy has changed and therefore the way you sell needs to adapt too. It's taking people longer to make purchasing decisions so you need a healthy pipeline. You also need to ensure as a business you are selling and building that pipeline every single day in order to grow. Sales is the lifeblood of any business and if you don't have a strategy then you're "hoping" for the best and that isn't a strategy and it's dangerous for business.

"𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆?" A question asked today whilst out networking with the amazing The Business Network Chester So, in simple terms here it is.... I built my first business on the back of networking…. I had networked for over 10 years and made some wonderful connections and friends. I loved leaving the office to have lunch with incredible humans whilst also creating new business opportunities. Although after covid I didn’t really get back into it. Life became pretty lonely. I sat at my desk day after day. There’s so much about networking that’s underestimated way beyond the pound signs.
