Ever wondered how to seamlessly integrate universal design into your architectural practice? This chapter attempts to clarify the concept of universal design by developing a list of guiding questions that can be used in architectural practices. This list consists of frequently asked questions (FAQ) in design processes and how an alternative to such questions could look like if we put on our universal design glasses. The aim is to help you towards an alternative way of structuring your design practice when possible. The chapter is written by Marie Christoffersen Gramkow, Marcus Tang Merit, Masa Kajita and Ulrika Stigsdotter, members of the Bevica Foundation's interdisciplinary research network. Some decisions are almost instantaneous, coming directly from the gut. When I got the call from Queralt Garriga, Francesc Camps Palou, Cris Marcos & Andrea Palomino de la Fuente I didn't give it a second thought. There was no way I was going to miss the opportunity to be part of the curatorial team of the first architecture museum in Spain: La Casa de la Arquitectura. How to connect the three elements: the museum itself, the website and the catalogued architectural works all over Spain, into a coherent narrative? How to engage a non-specialized public with the importance of architecture? How to reach out to young architects who are generally so demoralized and undervalued these days? And lastly, is it possible to build a leading site capable of transmitting the transformative power of architecture? I had the chance to spend some time listening and learning from the amazing #JuhaniPallasmaa , when we had him over at an event about architecture in movies at the Cinemateket in #Bergen, #Norway more than a decade ago. Captivating person and extremely pleasant to talk to and hear from. A learning experience in itself. Bellow is an article that poitns towards some of charecterictics of his architecture, and mainly at the human touch in it. In a more #AIgenerated and mainly visual designed environment, it is even more important to point towards the #feelings generated by an architectural space.
