February 10th is the start of the new lunar Year of the Dragon across much of Asia. The Dragon year is regarded as the most important, the Emperors historically associating themselves with the powerful, intelligent mythical creature. The Dragon Year is supposed to be a year of prosperity, good fortune, power and strength. The element this year is wood, representing development and achievement. So does that mean that this year China will exert its power and breathe fire on those that oppose it? There's a difference between the Western conception of the dragon, and that in the East. In my home country, the patron saint, St George slays the dragon which had been exploiting the villagers. The Dragon Year is the 5th of 12 in the Chinese zodiac, with the 12 animals and their order selected by who won a race to cross a river. Everyone had expected the dragon to win the race, as it could fly, but it stopped to help villagers, and to aid the rabbit in crossing the river which came in 4th before it. Because helping others is more important than finishing first. Let's hope that this new year brings a greater understanding of the different views and actions of the cultures, and that the power of the dragon is used and seen as a way to help the world, rather than a beast to be slain. May the Dragon Year bring peace, prosperity, good fortune and health to all.

Gong Xi Fa Cai! As many of you know, 2024 is the Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac. The dragon is a revered and auspicious symbol in Chinese culture, representing power, strength, and good fortune. As we enter this new lunar year, I wanted to reflect on what the Year of the Dragon may signify for all of us. The dragon is bold, confident, and ambitious - qualities we can all strive to emulate. Let's have the courage to take risks, pursue big goals, and make bold changes in our lives and careers this year. The dragon also represents intelligence and wisdom. May we seek new knowledge and perspectives to grow wiser and make enlightened decisions. Chinese tradition views the dragon year as an opportune time for adventure and progress. With the bold spirit of the dragon, let's step outside our comfort zones, push boundaries, and explore uncharted territories. Whether it's a new project, skill, or experience - this is a year for ambition and achievement. Most importantly, the dragon represents benevolence. While we pursue greater success and accomplishments, may we do so with compassion, integrity, and concern for the well-being of others. Let's make this a year where we lift each other up. The 28-day lunar cycle always begins with a new moon. Think of it as the first line of a story or the first few notes of a song. And if you’re one of the zodiac signs most affected by the new moon in Taurus of May 2024, you’re on the precipice of so much positive change. This new moon will help you process the heavy energy that’s been weighing on you, as the storm of eclipse season and the mayhem of Mercury retrograde have both finally settled. The two most climactic moments of the lunar cycle take place at the new moon and the full moon, acting as markers in time that highlight turning points in our lives. The full moon may get most of the applause, as its bright light always heightens the energy. The new moon is usually a much quieter experience, but that doesn’t take away from its importance. You may feel tired, hollow, and hopeful all at the same time, as the new moon forces you to make peace with the past and embrace a new whole chapter of your life. Something that begins under a new moon will always take shape by the time the corresponding full moon takes place six months later. The intentions you set during a new moon will help you break away from what is no longer in alignment with your path as you take the first steps toward everything that is. While you don’t have control over the future, you are capable of influencing the outcome. And because this is the first new moon taking place after the end of eclipse season, this is a chance to set fresh intentions and put your manifestations in motion. Dream big! Taking place on May 7 2024, the upcoming new moon takes place in grounded, stable, sensual, beautiful, abundant, patient, romantic, reliable, slow-moving, and money-oriented Taurus, encouraging you to focus on the earthly manifestations of your values. Because Taurus is traditionally ruled by Venus—planet of love and luxury—this new moon will bring exciting developments to your love life and your financial status. Taurus is known for its connection to the five senses (sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch), so make sure you fully immerse yourself in the present moment and get connected to your body. Watch the anxiety fade away as you remember the beauty of your surroundings and feel brought back down to earth. Love and Light Monica aka Cocojor!

Unleash your Zodiac Spirit: The “Science” Behinds It All As we approach the Year of the Dragon, let's discover the story behind this powerful creature. The Dragon, known for its strength and power, didn't claim the first spot in the race despite its ability to fly over the river. In an act of heroism, the Dragon chose to extinguish a village engulfed in flames. This detour earned the Dragon fifth place, forever securing its position as the fifth animal in the zodiac. How do Chinese astrologers unlock the secrets of each zodiac sign? From personality traits and career paths to love prospects and even fortune, the knowledge runs deep. In ancient times, years were denoted by Earthly Branches, aligning with the hours of the day according to solar time. Animals were cleverly incorporated as mnemonic symbols and classified as yīn (陰) or yang (陽). 🌙 The Chinese zodiac is interwoven into the cultural fabric, reflecting profound values. Each lunar year brings a unique energy dictated by the ruling zodiac animal. Wishing everyone an enchanting Year of the Dragon filled with power and endless possibilities! 🐲 #ovalpartnership #heritageconservation #conversation #community #publicspace #architects #urbanist #sustainability #urbanism #openspace #retaildesign #chinesenewyear #lunarnewyear #chinesenewyear2024 #chinesezodiac #yearofdragon

恭喜发财 – gong xi fa cai everyone 🏮🧧 Happy Lunar New Year! I am currently in Hainan, China and it’s New Years Eve tonight and 2024 is the year of the Dragon so this is super exciting to me. Watch this amazing AI generated animation: https://lnkd.in/givvjggB The dragon is the only mythical creature in the Chinese zodiac, and it symbolizes power, nobility, honor, luck, and success. It represents a potent symbol of strength and good fortune. Unlike in Western mythology, where dragons are often seen as malevolent beings, the Chinese dragon is considered benevolent and a bringer of prosperity. The dragon is thought to control water, rainfall, hurricanes, and floods, playing a crucial role in agriculture which is a key aspect of China’s history and development. The Year of the Dragon is believed to bring in moments of growth, vitality, and enthusiasm. People born in the Year of the Dragon are said to inherit some of the dragon’s powerful characteristics. They are often described as ambitious, energetic, passionate, and driven to succeed, albeit also potentially being perceived as arrogant or impatient due to their intense nature. 🧧🏮
